Forums - Microsoft Discussion - How do you stream to TV from PC Xbox Gamepass?

So you want to stream your PC gamepass to your TV without an Xbox. I am not sure if this can be done.

I stream from PC with my little steam whatever it's called. I was hoping I could do the same thing with Game pass.

I just plug my PC into my TV via an HDMI cable. It is basically an extra monitor when you do it that way.

The the is in another room. And I want something more permanent and seemless than a massive HDMI cable laying across the floor of my house.

If you can't or don't want to use a long cable, the only option I see is wireless HDMI. No idea about the lag though.

I haven't even heard of this? And I'd prefer no lag like I have with the steam link.

I think there are only two options:

- Connect PC to TV via HDMI

- Buying an Xbox

And of these will provide even better experience than you can possibly get by streaming

The first would require an enormous cord that would look terrible and be tripped over the house. The second would cost hundreds of dollars.

I use the physical based streaming service HDMI. Works great with my PC and a 65" TV.

Cords can be run along walls and hidden in cable canals. Though it's probably better to start designing your living space according to your entertainment needs and not the other way around. I mean if you're not willing to move your PC and your TV into the same room or run a long cable, do you actually really want it?

I want as little wires running everywhere as possible. I can do this same thing with steam games via my steam link, why can't I also do it with Xbox beta PC games?

If you stream your Steam games already to your TV you can do the same with your Gamepass games. You just have to add the Gamepass games to your Steam library.

To do that the UWPHook should work

This. If you want to stream any game that's not on your steam account to the steamlink you need to add them to steam first.

Im also pretty sure the is a way to steam you're desktop to steamlink so maybe that would be another option to launch non steam games without using any 3rd party software.

Ok I've figured out how to get my Origin and Xbox games to play, via that UWPhook, but one problem I'm still having is my xbox one controller. It is bluetooth hooked up to my steamlink, works properly on any Steam games, but doesn't seem to want to work with the xbox or origins games on the TV via steamlink.

Any suggestions?

I've come so close to getting this to work without having to buy a massive, in the way, $200 or more xbox! I don't want to fail now lol.

I Haven't done it myself but the advice I was given is you need to use big picture mode and set it up from there, after reading another post about setting up non steam games it was great until I got to the controller, it's only advice for the controller setup was youtube had lots of good advice.
