Nintendo announced the Switch has sold more than 15 million units in North America alone. This is more than the 13.56 million units that the Wii U sold worldwide.

14 games on the Nintendo Switch have sold more than one million units in North America, with four selling more than six million units: Mario Kart 8 DeluxeThe Legend of Zelda: Breath of the WildSuper Mario Odyssey and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

The Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros. games on the Switch have set franchise records with selling faster than previous games in the series.

VGChartz has it at 14.73 million sold, so overall very good tracking, well done to whoever's in charge of that.

It sold a combined just over 3 million units in November and December last year in the US. When you add the increased sales due to the $199 Switch Lite and sales from Canada and Latin America it has an outside chance. Looking at the heavy hitters. Are Luigi's Mansion 3 and Pokemon Sword / Shield as big as last year's Smash Bros. and Pokemon Lets Go? I don't think so.

I am happy with how close our estimates are. Add in another week of sales and we will be pretty much spot on. Maybe needs a small adjustment up.

I am predicting it will have the best holiday season since the Xbox 360 in 2010 when the Kinect launched. The Xbox 360 sold around 6 million units worldwide between November and December 2010.

Oh planet Earth! The home of native lands,
True social law, in all of us demand.
With cattle farts, we view sea rise,
Our North sinking slowly.
From far and snide, oh planet Earth,
Our healthcare is yours free!
Science save our land, harnessing the breeze,
Oh planet Earth, smoke weed and ferment yeast.
Oh planet Earth, ell gee bee queue and tee.

As I said in a recent weekly sales thread, I feel like the Switch's dominance in Japan distracts folks from just how much it's kicking arse in North America.

It may not be crushing the competition quite as spectacularly in the weekly charts there, but it's still selling incredibly well.

According to Daniel Ahmad/Zhuge, 13 million of these sales are in the USA, which is very close to PS4's sales in the same timeframe.
