Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Breath of the Wild 2 trailer with N64 graphics

I simply love these things, I wish we could see more demake like this one.

Except the part at the end when we see Hyrule's landscape, where I think it underestimates a little bit what the N64 could show, everything else is great.

That looks pretty neat.

I still haven't watched the actual BOTW 2 trailer. In fact, I didn't even know it was a thing until yesterday.....*cough*......I did watch the linked N64 trailer however, and even without the real trailer to use as a frame of reference, it's still kinda neat. Agree with you that the shot of the overworld at the end is below N64 standards. As a bonus, I have the actual BOTW 2 trailer from last June queued up to watch later.

Demastering just as cool as remastering? How can this be?

I can't even count the amount of times I've seen the real trailer, in contrast. Granted the majority of those times were watching reaction trailers because I enjoy seeing them.

I watched it shortly after I made that comment. It's very good for such a short trailer.

I guess I have no nostalgia for the era of ugly early 3D, I'm too old. It's plain ugly.

Oot with BOTW graphics is a bit better

I like seeing games scaled back to more simplistic graphics, but this is an eye sore. Also, its more polished than actual N64 game and runs too smooth.

I'd like to see Bloodstained remade with the visuals feel of Castlevania SOTN or the DS Castlevania games.

The FFXV mobile version is interesting but I never actually played it.

Eh. I obviously don’t have the knowledge and skill to do what the guy did so props to him for creating this, but it looks pretty terrible to me. Even when not comparing it to anything I’d say it looks pretty lifeless, lacks detail (or is unbalanced in detail), bad textures especially on rock walls and the movement of the water. It also looks kind of plasticy or unnaturally lit though this could be an Unreal thing since I’ve noticed this more often in Unreal powered projects. I’m not really a fan of the Unreal 4 look in general.

The redone Majora’s Mask intro trailer from some years ago remains by far the best Zelda fan project.

Nostalgic.
I like how this trailer looks even darker than the original one.
