Of Nintendo's E3 shows of 2010-2019, which do you think was the crappiest, and (here's the important bit) WHY do you think this particular year's show deserves the nod?

2015...it was a low point for the WiiU and people were let down by the Zelda U delay. Switch was not even anything more than a pipe dream as far as fans were concerned at the time.

I mean, you know you have hit rock bottom when you decide to use puppets to open up the event...

ah crap I voted for 2014. I read the thread title wrong. My real vote is 2015 because of the underwhelming announcements of Star Fox Zero, Mario Tennis Ultra Smash and Federation Force... and also amiibo Festival lol

The one with the announcement of Mario Tennis Ultra Smash, Metroid Prime Federation Force, Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival, and ended with the AMAZING showcase of... Miyamoto playing the SMB theme on a guitar because of Mario's 30th anniversary.

I dont know what year it was, but Nintendo basically only showed some breath of the wild.... I mean, what a game, but damn.... that's got to be the absolute harshest "between system" transitions I've ever seen.

Just an old man, a family man, and a gamer. My family is more important to me then life itself.

To be fair, we didn’t know at the time but the puppets were kind of a necessity, because Iwata at that point wasn’t in a good shape anymore. I agree that even besides that, 2015 had nothing.

Yep, definitely this one. The feeling of "Is that it?" while Nintendo rubs salt in the wound with that terrible music outro, almost celebrating how mediocre they'd been.

Predictions (Made July 2019)

LTD: PS4 - 130m, Switch - 110m, XBO - 52m       2019 : PS4 - 15m, Switch - 18.8m, XBO - 4.8m        2020: Switch - 22m (Peak Year)

I actually like the musical collab. I mean, it probably wasn’t the best way to end the showcase, but it was a nice performance. While I would choose E3 2015 as Nintendo’s worst, I don’t think 2015 was a bad year. Splatoon, Xenoblade X, Smash 4 DLC, and Super Mario Maker were highlights for me.

it was a tough year as we would eventually learn that Iwata’s bile duct growth worsened to the point of his untimely and unfortunate passing. Nintendo not only had to regroup internally due to his death, but also face a rough transition to their next system. Which led to a rough 2016 with little more than a few titles that were overshadowed like TMS#FE or rather unnoteworthy, with Pokemon Sun and Moon, the first tease of the Switch, and the E3 blowout of Zelda BOTW being the few shining lights for Nintendo that year.

While I've seen clips from E3 2011's Skyward Sword glitch-fest, at least it was trying to show a quality game. So my vote goes to E3 2015, the king of the bait-and-switch presentation. Remember how Star Fox was teased last year? Well, it looks like crap! We know you've been waiting for Metroid...here's a stupid spinoff where you play as faceless space police! At least we have Animal Crossing HD!!! ...Except it's a Fortune Street re-skin. God that presentation was depressing. I literally felt sick when it was over.

The uncontested 2015 presentation.

Anywoo, who the 3 peeps who really thinks 2018 was worse than this shitshow ?
