Don't use the JoyCons much, but I've had no issues so far since I got my Switch in July 2017. The amount of JoyCons screwing up is unacceptable though, especially with their high price.

It's nothing new. The left stick on my WiiU gamepad drifts as well, It's the left stick again on the Switch. I contacted Nintendo support and they want me to send them in for repair with DHL. Shipping cost one way is CAD 50 from my place, plus they never mentioned whether the repair would be free, nvm. My solution, not buying anymore games for it.

My Wii U Gamepad started to drift too but it was after almost 5 years of heavy use and it was a refurbished one, the other controller I remember being very bad was the N64 but that was their first controller to have a stick so it's a little understandable.

For those people who have run into this issue and have resorted to either trying to play games with the drifting or just not buying more games for the system to show Nintendo who is the boss (I mean... you have a 300e system, you should probably worry more about fixing it) but for those people, why not go on Amazon and buy the replacement parts for the joycons? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Cemobile-Replacement-Controller-Screwdrivers-Thumbstick/dp/B07RZ6H32T/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_sims?ie=UTF8&th=1 that's for a pair of 2 sticks, they are there for a single one starting around a fiver along with the screendrivers you need to open it.

The parts are small and fiddly but if you know anyone who has some it support skills or knows how to be careful or follow a youtube video then you could fix the issue you're having by the end of the week for around a tenner (if both sticks are broken)

If anyone needs advice on this I would be happy to give it.

Have you tried those joysticks? are you endorsing them? if that's the case I'm going to buy them, I already have the tools and know how to remove them.

I have purchased and replaced.... 7 different Joycons in my switch and the little guys one, using various replacements gotten from Amazon and Ebay, most of the replaced ones have not needed to be replaced again, one which was used for heavy 10 year old fortnite play did but again at the cost of under a fiver.

Read the reviews on there, if the review is "this was too hard and I couldn't put it in 1*" then disregard it because it's a person who shouldn't have bought them to do the joy, I would strongly advise, look up a youtube video on doing it as you go because there is very small ribbons in the joycon which you have to flip up a plastic tab to release, slow and steady and you'll have a 100% joycon for the price of a tea.

Yeah, I am beating a dead horse, but I echo Ganon's post above. Replacements are cheap and super easy. And a huge improvement. It is so worth the time/effort/cost.

Or even get one of these

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Official-Nintendo-Licensed-Version-Switch/dp/B07FSWM4Z2/ref=sr_1_1?crid=VRAMJOU2YGCZ&keywords=hori+joy+con&qid=1569949944&s=gateway&sprefix=hori+joy%2Caps%2C139&sr=8-1

and replace your right joycon altogether with a Hori version complete with proper D-pad (no wireless or motion control in this though, but beautiful dpad and very strong stick)

Good idea. I'll do you one better though. https://www.amazon.co.uk/HORI-Split-Pad-Pro-Nintendo/dp/B07T5QKKVP/ref=pd_sbs_63_2/257-5696183-1714801?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B07T5QKKVP&pd_rd_r=de612e66-dd17-4a64-955b-371634ced79c&pd_rd_w=gzuQ1&pd_rd_wg=SfMNZ&pf_rd_p=2b420a2f-6593-478e-8b5f-cb43865ff16f&pf_rd_r=A1P2Q5F5AM7T5M3HH68W&psc=1&refRID=A1P2Q5F5AM7T5M3HH68W

Pretty much impossible to break it since there's not a tiny Joycon stick in it. Comfortable as hell for your hands too!

Edit: No rumble in these though, and no internal batteries. I guess they run off the Switch battery instead of internal Joycon batteries.

My lefty recently started to drift. This compounds a disconnection/button-press-not-being-registered kind of issue I have as well. But I live in Trinidad and I've been down this road before with getting support (a big headache), so I'll probably trying replacing the analog sticks as mentioned here. Won't solve my disconnection/button issue though.
