Forums - Sony Discussion - TLOU part2 breaks all Ps4 Pre-Order Records

"The Last of Us 2 is the biggest Gamesproject of all time for us" :)

Yeah =)

I don't have any reason to trust the OP.

But yes it is very likely that TLOU2 will break all records of pre-order and also first week and first month sales. LTD sales there is a chance to be the highest as well.

No bait, this has been a weak year for the ps4. 2018 was much stronger. One can clearly see development has been moved to the ps5, hence the lack of exclusive releases this year.

I agree with this. I think Sony is putting all bets on the PS5, which seems like the smart move to make given their position. I feel like we've been speculating about the PS5 since the Switch launch, and maybe earlier, and still no info on specs or release date (afaik). They must have something big up their sleeves.

Oh, and I fucking love TLoU. I generally don't get hyped for games that are this far away from release, and I can't say that I'm hyped yet for this either, but once it launches, I can guarantee my week will be reserved for Naughty Dog's masterpiece.

I fully expect a 2020 release, and game development has migrated to the ps5, which is why the ps4 has cooled off this year.  And I am fine with that.  The ps4 was amazing and worth every penny.

what was the god of war sales figures in the first month??
my forecast: TLOU2 > all Uncharted-Games (sales figures) i hope everyone play this fantastic game, because TLOU1 is free for ps+ members now.
TLOU2 is 100 % the biggest Game of the Year 2020. No Chance for Final Fantasy 7 Remake and co. Maybe Ghost of Tsushima.. ?

Biggest game in 2020? Possibly. Though for me personally Ghost tops my list. Plus I'm expecting something exciting from Nintendo.

I agree.

Knowing this was the year of Days Gone i already expected it to be weaker since from the get go that game didnt look on par with the ones we got last year, (granted it aint bad just not on par with GOW or Spìderman), and to be fair we still dont know if Death Stranding will be the best thing ever or a complete miss (i have hopes on Kojima but i dont think he is infallible either).

However i think 2020 maybe on par or even better than 2018 since TLOU Part II looks fantastic and i dont know about you but i think Ghosts of Tsushima is looking effing great as well from what ive seen, so i have hopes... also i know FF7 Remake isnt first party (and it probably will end up on other hardware years later) but thats another huge exclusive for 2020 thats shaping up to be amazing as well, you add another awesome looking exclusive in the form of Nioh 2 and overall 2020 seems like a perfect way for the PS4 to finish the generation.

In order of excitement for me

1) FF7 Remake

2) TLOU II

3) Cyber Punk 2077

4) Ghosts of Tsushima

5) Nioh 2

FF7 is on top because i never played the original game back on the PS1 (yeah i know what a fuck up) and i just missed on experiencing that game back in the day when it didnt just wow people because it was great, but also because of its graphics and improvements (like the fact that when you changed a sword on the menu the in game character actually had a different looking sword, many other games didnt had that), so now i finally get to enjoy this game while at the same time being blown away by superficial stuff like graphics and attention to detail.

Granted the truth is there is a good chance that when i have played all of those games TLOU Part II will end up being my favorite since ND are just that good, but in terms of excitement thats what my list looks like.

Like Estebxx said before.

FF7 Remake, TLoU2, Cyberpunk 2077, Ghosts of Tsushima, Nioh 2.

How does Nintendo top or come close to that in 2020?
I feel like to "match" TLoU2, nintendo would need to launch a BoTW 2.
FF7 Remake.... would take another Mario Oddessey.

Chrkeller you've said PS4 seems to be slowing down and their moveing developement to PS5 and it shows.
However tbh PS4 software is still pretty darn strong in 2019 and 2020.
