If Joel is dead or dies then I'll be pissed. Tbh playing only as Ellie is already annoying to me, killing off my main man would destroy my interest in a part 3 or even finishing this part 2. My main interest lies only in the fact he features in this game. Before the most recent trailer my interest wasn't very high.

I'm not even at the point where I'm thinking about if I'll get upset at Joel potentially dying, but the fact that if they wanted to go this route, they should make sure that people don't suspect anything.

Though either way, he can be a fairly prominent part of the story. And I hope he is. Would be weird otherwise.
Naughty Dog said this is the longest game they've made, so even if a good portion of the game is without Joel, he may still be a part of a big chunk of it.

I think it would be cool if, presuming he's alive, that the game switches protagonists, and we get to play as Joel and see what he was up to while he wasn't teamed up with Ellie. And vice versa. Until their paths cross.

Nice EZA preview with some new gameplay snippets peppered throughout. Everything looks and sounds great, especially the AI improvements. Huber also confirms that Joel's scene from the State of Play trailer was continuous, so no editing trickery there.

Today's previews really debunked your theory. I'm glad. :)

How does everyone feel about no multiplayer? I hope this means a longer story (25 - 30 hours).

I didn't play a lot of TLOU multiplayer but it was a nice change of pace from COD & Killzone.

WOW !!!   As much as I cannot wait anymore for this Game, there's a part of me who maybe could wait for the PS5 version.  I really hope this will be heavely enhanced for Next Gen, ND should do it for a Launch Game, with next gen assets.  Any thoughts ?

I don't care. Never even tried the MP when I played it on PS3.

Broke, and just watched the trailer. Joel is definitely back. No flashbacks or dreams from the looks of it.

It looks soooo good. Next level.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!

I loved TLOU's MP. Hope we can still get more in the future. At least the extra focus should make for an even better (and longer) SP campaign - and less worry about MT's and such tainting the experience.

Really hope we'll get MP in dlc or something, though...

It will be longer according to Neil Druckman - "What we realized pretty early on is that we were putting together Naughty Dog's most ambitious and longest game in our 35-year history. To tell this kind of story the game needed to be massive."

As for the lack of Multiplayer, I've heard good things about Uncharted and especially TLOU multiplayer, but I've personally never played the multiplayer in a Naughty Dog game. So it doesn't matter to me.

Predictions (Made July 2019)

LTD: PS4 - 130m, Switch - 110m, XBO - 52m       2019 : PS4 - 15m, Switch - 18.8m, XBO - 4.8m        2020: Switch - 22m (Peak Year)

I never played the MP for TLOU and I never intended on playing it in TLOU2. I knew a lot of people would be disappointed though I heard a lot of good things about the MP TLOU.
