So here's an idea that's been on my mind that I'ma just throw out there. In video games, when you die to a boss or what have you, you try again now having the knowledge of your previous attempt which should mean you do better. You know what good moves to make as well as what bad moves not to make. I was thinking if only we could try something similar with real life. Delete all humans that have been tainted by the bad ideas of prior generations all at once, leaving only the innocent young children and babies to grow up and reform humanity with the good ideas we've had. Pretty extreme to kill most of humanity like that, but it's had more than enough time to get better on it's own. It's clear at this point that it's only gonna happen through great force and sacrifice. I genuinely think this idea would be effective, as even if it doesn't work out the first time you can just repeat the process much like you do for bosses. Of course there's no way to make this actually happen for real, and even if there was, most people would be against it, but it's fun to think about.

This would guarantee a mass extinction event that would end the human race within a single generation.

Sure some of it works out but some shit you need an expert and no matter how many times you watch or attempt you can't do it.  I can replace a camshaft position sensor (actually needed friend with long skinny arm to get to part between timing belt), fuel pump, and some other basic things.  When it came to replacing the clutch...  I watched a video and said fuck that.  Paid backyard mechanic 500 (I bought parts myself) to replace the damn thing.  No way in fucking hell am I dropping the transmission to get to the clutch.

Humanity's numbers would be greatly reduced sure but not extinct, we had to start from low numbers at one point.

This silly fantasy is always conjured up by the youth of the day. The fact of the matter is that all the divine and devilish are contained within each of us even as we form our first words. Free will gives us the ability to destroy and create. Look at you even trying to do both at the same time.

This is bitterness and a desire just to start anew, and the fact of the matter is that isn't possible. Also, please have a little understanding that for the generations that came before you, we were in the exact same situations. As Billy Joel once said, It's always been burning since the world's been turning.

And no...it isn't fun to think about. It's a serious proposition with a lot of blood in the equation.

Just do nothing and let humanity carry on as it is, we'll eventually destroy ourselves and a new species will evolve and rule the Earth. I hope its sharks.
