Was wanting to future proof myself.  Plus Newegg had a good deal for the 32gb kit at the time.

IMO 16 GB is pretty future proofed. By the time 32 GB becomes standard 3200 MHZ might be a super slow speed. What was the deal? Also what game did you intend to use all 32 GB for?

32gb is also good for video editing as well, so there's that little bonus to consider.

I'll be upgrading to 32 either this year or next, because I want to get back into video editing myself, as well as drawing once more.

Why would you swap back to the console, when you've already got a good PC?.

All I'm going to be doing, is upgrading to a new build within 2-3yrs time, rather than shelling out for another console, that's not likely to surpass upcoming (as well as current) hw.

Also, as a sidenote, PC has generated quite a lot for publishers over the years. Most devs want to design games on and for PC as well, so it's not like PC is still stuck in the 90's, where it's consoles first, PC wayyy later.

Got the 32gb kit for $125 at the time of a promo.  Also.. 32gb not necessarily for gaming.. part of my build was also to start a YouTube channel for my girls.. but lately the PC's been relegated to the Vive... Finding so many awesome games on the PC side for VR.

Update.. so I finally saved enough for the 2080ti Ftw3 ultra.. but reading the news about ampere.. thinking I might stick with the 1080ti for a bit.. don't feel like investing $1500 into a GPU that will get outclassed soon and for cheaper.. decisions decisions..
