Game Boy. It was just so satisfying.

PS1 has to be a close second. And yes, the Gamecube also had a really cool startup sequence. I think there were even some cheatcodes or something to change the sequence a little.

Official member of VGC's Nintendo family, approved by the one and only RolStoppable. I feel honored.

Sega Saturn, specifically the PAL version. PS1 and PS2 are close behind. Gamecube and Dreamcast are next. I don't like the Xbox start up, but at least it's quick. PS3/PSP are ok. I couldn't even tell you what a PS4 or Switch start up sequence is, they just haven't stood out to me at all. Mega CD is pretty cool as is the Gameboy.

To me the Gamecube's is the most iconic, followed by the GBA's. I also like the first 2 Playstations, and definitely have a lot of memories with Windows 98 and XP.

For a system that sold quite poorly, I am consistently surprised how much love the Gamecube gets, I had no idea it's startup sequence was so adored.

That ought to tell you something about the crowd in this forum :)

It's not just here, on most gaming forums I've been on there's a level of Gamecube nostalgia way out of proportion with its sales.

Then that just tells you that nintendo fans are either the most vocal, most prevalent in most gaming forums (or at least the ones you go to) or both. Because as you rightful aid initially, The system sold quite poorly, but or whatever reason, the 20M people that bought it seem to be everywhere.

Well on the forums I go to, I spend most of my time in the Nintendo section, so it's only natural I mostly interact with Nintendo fans. It just seems strange that among that fanbase a system that sold 22 million seems to have a more outspoken following than say, the 32-million-selling N64.

Or the 150 million selling DS? Only one person mentioned the DS in this thread that I saw. The similarly selling PS2 got plenty of mentions.

Despite video gaming being decades old, only a percentage of them had startup screens and of that percentage, a lot of them sucked or may as well not even existed. That's why the GameCube is getting so much love.

I actually didn't like it. It seemed kinda childish. I still liked it more than the PS2's and Xbox's though.
