This doesn't seem like something that would appeal to the same people as Wii Fit. It looks a lot more niche. More interesting to gamers but less interesting to others.

So you think using Miis in a fitness party style game would suit that audience more than this?

are you seriously saying this is the most interesting switch game on the entire switch platform? Or just for the motion aspect of the system?

I am weirdly interested by this game. This is far more interesting than anything the series has seen.

Wow...color me impressed with where this ended up going. Kudos to Nintendo for getting us used to the whole ring/strap concept in the first place. I absolutely think that showing the peripheral and the game at the same time would have been too much info/wtf at the same time. Like others, I do fear that both of these concepts (fitness/adventure rpg) are going after a different audience, but I'm also intrigued whether there might be a few people who will find it an easy transition between the two. I sincerely doubt Nintendo needs to sell 5 million of these to make a profit. I think they'd be happy enough with 1-1.5 mil. And I'm definitely interested in seeing whatever follows this title.

edit....

There are even simple mini game modes and normal fitness routines.  Yeah, I just finished watching the video.  They could have easily inverted the presentation to focus more on the fit.  I do have a feeling in the future we will see a shorter commercial that almost doesn't mention the adventure mode.  This one seems like it's aimed at us particularly and is showing gamers how this could be a fun idea for them.

Also...October 18th!  Wow...Nintendo sure are great at keeping things under wrap.  This is almost a shadow drop.  It's like they've got their console division, handheld division, quirky peripheral division, and fitness division all working together to deliver nonstop new experiences.  I honestly don't think we have any concerns about droughts for this system.  The games might not always be what you want to play, but there will be a steady stream.

Pls, it's not really that surprising or amazing that a blue ocean product which is for people who don't follow gaming news is being announced so close to release. Not really something to hype up.

Also, when you say we don't have any concerns about droughts, you mean like with most of 2018 and the first half of 2019?

I'm just surprised it did so with out any leaks.  And regarding droughts...I had plenty of stuff to play during all those times.

So when you say "we" don't have any concerns about droughts, what you really mean is you? Ok.

Interesting, and maybe this will do better than LABO did at least.

Some days I just blow up.

Yep...that's what my post said.  Because each division is working hard, ultimately there won't be droughts.  For individual gamers, sure.  But as a whole there are always products coming out.  Just like I enjoyed almost none of the last direct, but for handheld gamers and rpg fans there was plenty.
