honestly? I loved it until file 6, after that I don't know it became repetitive really fast. you have so many legions but all you need to do is power up sword legion and spam RZ and LZ for sync attacks, you almost never need anything else. even on pt standard it's hard to die, then you have 4 kinds of medicine, 4 defibrillation hearts and items to restock it. I really had to force myself to play it. halfway through file 12 I decided drop the game.

Finally got started on it. Played for about 40 minutes, will now take a break to have dinner.

It's, uh, wow. One of those games that you boot up and from the first screen that shows up you already know it's gonna be something special. That whole opening chapter (file, I guess?) was mindblowing shit. Gonna play the crap out of this game over the weekend.

You haven't seen anything yet. It just gets bigger and better as you go along

The Switch news feed received an Astral Chain illustration to celebrate the game's great success. No numbers were given.

If you want to be pessimistic, you can view it as baseless PR. If you want to be optimistic, you can interpret it as 1m crossed (shipped + digital).

You don't actually think 1m is possible as of now though, right?

Just played the first file, I liked the motorbike sequence at the start but other than that not much else. I don't like the combat system, felt chunky. I started skipping the cutscenes just before the first boss appeared. Don't think I'll continue to play it, luckily I didn't pay anything for it, so saved myself 60 euro :)

Some key tips that will help people through the game.

- You can quickly switch to any Legion with out needing to bring up the menu or cycle through them in order just tap the Legion menu button (default is Y) and flick the left analogue stick in the direction of the desired Legion.

- With the Sword and Arrow Legion their unique action (L button by default) has an added feature called focus (click the right analogue during the unique action) which slows things down, essentially a bullet time mechanic, when you need to utilize the action it's best to press both buttons at the same time to bring up the action and immediately be in focus this is especially key in battles.

-When equipping gene codes read carefully what extra added effects they may bestow so even give added abilities like parrying and auto heal.

On the final boss, he killed me on my first attempt. I'm hoping for a second try this evening.

Im on file 8 ..I know its weird but the sound after you clean up red matter is just so satisfying to hear I keep looking for more red matter

I took out the final boss on my second try. The game ends amazingly well, superb title. GotY thus far for me.

That's surprising, what other games have you played this year if I might ask.

It's my favorite game I have played this year as well even though I haven't beat it yet
