I love the game, but the overall pacing of the missions isn’t my cup of tea, I have trouble doing more than one file per game session. But overall, in terms of gameplay, visual and music, the game is a blast.

I'm feeling this too. I like it and want to play through a couple of files at once, but by the time each one finishes, it's overstayed its welcome, so I just put it down for a while and do something else.
I didn't end up getting it myself, the VA and character designs really rub me the wrong way, but I'm glad to see so many others bought it and enjoyed it.

If you can see that there is a patch, you must have an online connection. If you have an online connection, why don't you download it? A couple of minutes (188 MB) can't be an issue. Here's what the patch does: Sorting, selling and item usage are improved. A few scripting errors were fixed. Functional Changes and Additions
General Changes

I have a pirated copy, getting a patch isn't as convenient as getting it legally xD
I got the patch now anyway since writing that comment.
My brother tried to buy it but it was sold out at every retailer in our local area, so he had to get a copy from ebay. That tends to happen with non-megaton games on Nintendo systems around here, they always under-ship. I remember when I picked up Crash Team Racing they had like 3 copies at the store, all of which were spoken for. If you don't preorder, good luck getting any game in the first few weeks unless it's something big like Mario.
On an unrelated note, I still wonder if the reason they haven't shown Bayonetta 3 yet was cos they didn't want to steal Astral Chain's thunder, as Bayo is the more well known IP.

Shoot, that's three more copies than my local Best Buy had for Ys VIII. It felt like they sent 1 or 2 to every game stop for the first shipment and that was it.
And yeah, probably. Astral Chain's surprise appearance and rapid hype cycle could have been derailed if all the media outlets started jabbering about Bayonetta from E3 onwards. And they really couldn't afford that with the release schedule being so crowded. Shoot, that's another thing to consider: Nintendo probably didn't want too much talk going on about the future releases when they have literally a month or less over the summer to hype up each of their *six* releases coming out in the season.

Yeah that's a good point too. I just really hope we see it soon, I am so, so sick and tired of waiting for it.
I didn’t get it, and not going to. It’s not for me. It’s too flashy-Japanese, and there are numbers on the screen, which means it’ll get too cumbersome down the road.
Finished file 8, such an amazing game. Each file gets better and better.
