That's odd, every platform fell week over week except Xbox One, which got a small boost. Was there a sale on for Xbone?

Wow just a 3k difference. Given these are estimates I can't really say Switch won the week rather than it just being a tie, not that I really care about that sort of thing.

Has Vita been discontinued in the west or is it just not being tracked there anymore? Either way it may as well not be tracked at all anymore with them nearly non-existent numbers.

After seeing the boost that the improved model gave Switch in Japan, I'm not really believing the stagnant sales that this site is showing.

It just seems like there should have been a notable bump when it released in America/Europe.

Vita has been discontinued everywhere, we only track Japan because we still get weekly data for it there.

Doesn't the bump start next week?  I'm just basing that off the fact that Japan is only showing 30k in Switch sales.

Yes the Japan bump is next week, what I'm saying is that I dont understand why they arent showing any bump in America/Europe which got the upgraded model earlier.

America got it in early Aug, Europe in mid Aug and Japan in late Aug.

I was thinking that the Japanese bump was due to stores being in short supply a couple of weeks before the new model was released.  Basically they phased out one model and in the transition stores were in short supply.  That is why we saw a decrease in Switch sales in Japan for a couple of weeks before the bump.

Did North America and Europe have any similar decrease before the new hardware was released?  I wouldn't think the new hardware, by itself, would increase sales, since Nintendo hasn't really been marketing the new hardware.  All the marketing is really focused on the Switch Lite instead.

Well, those drops are almost entirely due to Japan since this is the week after Obon. And given Microsoft's presence in Japan... yeah, it didn't really matter for it. It went from 42 units in Obon week to 41 units the week after. 1 unit. That's about as insignificant as you can get.

Fair enough, but then why did Xbone sales increase week-over-week by 5k? May not sound like much but that's like a 13% rise over last week.

Build up/anticipation for Gears 5 is my guess.
