In unrelated Switch news. The PS4 is about 5-7 weeks away from becoming just the 6th member of a very elite and iconic club.

I don't know honestly, possibly a combination of not wanting those who just scooped up a Switch to feel ripped off and not wanting to draw attention away from the Lite.

Yeah, that does make sense. I am looking forward to see what kind of boost we see with the Switch Lite. Also looking forward to the PS5 and Xbox Scarlett. The sales battle this generation didn't last very long.

You're completely delusional if you think it will even be a battle between Ps5 & Scarlett.

Scarlett will be lucky to hit Xbox One numbers, let alone Ps5 lmao

If you're basing that on how badly the X1 is doing you should stop for a moment and consider just how completely dead the wiiu was at the point where the switch released

Us gamers for the most part will very quickly forgive a bad console if a company gets it's shit together and releases must have hardware.

Also think back to PS2 Vs og Xbox, 150m Vs 30ish million, then how close the x360 to PS3 was, if it wasn't for the rrod that would have been a complete whitewash for the x360

It came out in different markets and countries in a staggered and rather random fashion throughout this month. As of these numbers it had only just arrived at Amazon and Ebay, but was not yet available from Japanese retailers.

It doesn't look like the new model with improved battery life has done much to help boost sales of the Switch. The Switch Lite should help boost sales by a significant amount.

Considering it's always sold out pretty much the minute it gets restocked on Amazon, so I don't think that there's enough of them yet to make a difference. Plus, it's only a gray model, if you wanted neon, you're out of luck for now.

You are new, it is delusional to know what's going to happen, we had plenty of threads with PS3 sales will destroy Xbox 360/Wii's sales.  Vita is going to be massive and WiiU will outsell Xbox one.

Now, this is getting even more interesting in the upcoming weeks with Astral Chain, Daemon x Machina, Dragon Quest XI S and Link's Awakening coming up with the lite to boost these sales while the PS4/Xbone will get some neat 3rd party support that should give a slight lift to their efforts.

I don't expect Astral Chain or DxM to be the kind of games that move hardware in significant amounts; Link's Awakening and Dragon's Quest 11 should, but as they're releasing on/around the launch of the Lite it will be difficult to impossible to distinguish their effect from the revision boost. Still, I think its safe to say that the weeks ending the 21st and 28th of September should see very healthy Switch hardware sales indeed. ;)

I see this keeps getting jacked from me 😏

Next week, we take a stand!

My bad, sorry. I'll make a point not to hijack next week. ;)

Yeah I never expected the Mariko-powered regular Switch would be a big hardware booster since Nintendo is treating it as a silent revision and as such the average consumer probably knows nothing about it.

The Lite is the main event.

I am surprised Nintendo didn't advertise the release of the regular Switch with improved battery life a bit more. Some 3DS/2DS owners might have been waiting to get a Switch until a model with improved battery life was made available. I only play the Switch docked, but people who mainly play it on the go have to worry about the battery only lasting a few hours.

They probably don't want to tick off a bunch of people that bought Switches right before that revision came out, demanding for the newer one in trade ins.

Well PS3 didn't destroy Xbox 360, but it actually caught up in 2013, after years of efforts and great games...

That's despite launching full year later, and even longer in Europe (March 2007) and having awful price...

And he's right, Xbox Scarlet will have even worse sales compared to PS5, I'm betting on 75% to 25% between Sony & Microsoft next gen.

At this very moment with these August 17th 2019 sales it's actually 69% PS4, 31% Xbox One, that's really awful after massive success that Xbox 360 was last gen.

But what do your predicted % with Nintendo thrown into there? And yes, I know many buy Nintendo devices in addition to PS or XB, but there still are those who exclusively buy them rather than the other two (like me). You think Switch/Switch 2.0 will hold it's own?

You kinda torpedo your last point with the start of this post, The Xbox360 launched great and a whole year ahead of the PS3... but the PS3 caught up with the X360 by the end of the generation, so it isn't like the momentum wasn't already on the side of Playstation when the PS4 launched, it was moving at a pace which undone a great first year by the X360, MS just left that console to die after Kinect was done with on it, they put their focus on Kinect2.0 and the X1 all of which were not game related focus.

What I'm saying is, Xbox as a brand was in trouble compared to the Playstation brand for the second half of the previous generation, not just when the ps4 launched.

The last few weeks PS4 will manage to stay close to Switch.
