I'm afraid to look too much into this game. Already so many on my wishlist but not enough money for all of em. Dx

I feel your pain.  Switch is on fire right now!

I just got an opening this week to focus on BotW Master Mode and some Mario Maker 2, but I have Daemon, Astral, Dragon Quest, and Link's Awakening Dreamer Edition all pre ordered for sep alone.

Then I get to empty my wallet again in October/November!

The critical acclaim

From the pre-release footage and the critical reception I already know this is a game I'll enjoy.

This game is going to flop bad in Japan, lol. It's a few days away and it's not even charting on COMG. The director of the game has actually had to mention numerous times that there are still plenty of collector's editions in stock. Part of that is the pricing, and the fact that it's a new IP, but still ... it seems like someone overestimated demand significantly. To be fair the voucher system might save it, but I honestly would not be surprised if this debuted at 15-30k.

Just very sad. America and Europe are going to have to save this game. Being a new IP certainly doesn't help, but I have to wonder if just part of it is the platform. Metal Gear Rising Reveangance sold 440k in Japan, Nier Automata did 420k, Bayonetta 1 did 300k. We shall see.

Not expecting it to do lights out, but using COMG as a reference in this time and age aint really good. It's probably going to do more than Bayo 2 did on retail, but it's most definately going to do quite good digital numbers. It was ranked #3 on the digital chart for July - over a month before it's release. I think vouchers will take a good chunk away from retail purchasers.

Revealed on February, demo'd in-depth at E3 and received very well by the public, released to universal acclaim in August. This should be the rule and not the exception.

I was hyped for Daemon, but the demo was meh.  Not sure what to think at this point.

Daemon X Machina could be good. The demo was good, but not amazing or even great. Just good. I expect an opencritic score of 79 - 83. Sales might be pretty bad though. Not much hype for this game. Too many obviously better games coming out for Switch this year. It will probably be a victim of a crowded year.

It is a victim of crowded year for me, without a doubt. Between Fire Emblem, Astral, Pokemon, Link's Awakening and Luigi's Mansion... Daemon isn't even on my radar. Maybe next year when gaming is slow.
