Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

To be fair... I can easily understand THQ getting voted as best games studio/company.

They listen to what fans want, buy old (near dead) IP's and then give fans games in those series.
So if your a fan of a "dead" series, and you see suddenly THQ is bring it back to life, your like "hell yeah THQ"

Borderlands 2 had like a ~90% metacritic score right? Its a strong series.
Sales wise? I dont know... I suspect these games are like 5m+ sellers right?
But theres a "core" of fans that really love it for what it is.

Borderlands 2 alone has sold 22 million copies while the series' total is at 48 million (link).

THQ Nordic, eh? I guess I'm missing out. I buy a fair amount of games, but going through their entire catalog I see I've never played anything they've ever published. I DID buy the Darksiders 1 and 2 remasters though. Just haven't tried them yet.

I like how Planet Zoo got something, but massively disappointed that "best" PC game was a multiplat, from a shitty company. Planet Zoo would have better served as an actual PC games, designed for PC, rather than a console franchise, that gets a PC port.

That explains it then.... Borderlands is BIG.
The hype for the series feels that way too.

For me, the shocker is that THQ Nordic have brought the name THQ back from the dead. A few years back, I don't think anyone would have thought that would be possible but they have been pretty decent quality as of lately.

I'm also shocked to see so much praise for Dreams. I could see it topping Playstations list for hype but overall? I guess I need to look more into it.

Dreams really does look like a top shelf product. My main concerns with it are that it will likely have a steep learning curve, and will require a significant time investment to get anything out it. The whole thing seems a bit daunting.

Same.

Sony and Media Molecule have talked about adding mouse and keyboard support as well as allowing creators to sell their creations as standalone games. I think that's very important for Dreams' long-term success. If they dare to open the gates completely by releasing Dreams for free on console and PC with a 5% royalty on revenue, they could end up with a highly intuitive and highly competitive engine on their hands.
