Forums - Sports Discussion - The NFL Thread 2019: The Kansas City Chiefs Win Super Bowl LIV

Who do you believe will have a stronger defense in 2020?

Patriots 2 66.67%

Steelers 1 33.33%

Total:3

The Patriots have lose both of the key games against the Ravens and Chiefs this season. Today's loss snapped a 21 game home winning streak.
Before today, I thought the Patriots were not as strong as they used to be. Now they're really starting show. They're really missing Gronk and Josh Gordon out there. Fortunately for them, their defense is as great as it's always been. The offense though....

So barring a total collapse in these last 3 weeks, the Ravens should have the #1 seed locked down.

AB catches that last pass no matter how tight the coverage. Every single time. He also doesn't fall down in front of the first down marker the play before. Difference between a number one and a really good number two, not that they have any other number two right now either.

Deep ball to Dorsett, PI not called. Pinpoint pass to Lacosse, dropped. Perfect pass to Edelman, doesn't even contest. Meyers open on the last play, already dropped a million balls so no sane person would trust him. N'Keal had I think one target the entire game. Brady literally cannot throw the ball better or quicker than he did that last drive.

I was ready to dog the defense, but they showed up in the end and made it a game. But really, Patriots are practically lead by their special teams at this point. Don't see how you recover from this many issues this late in a season.

@MTZehvor Change the thread title to "The Patriots are really doomed."

Just think about it. The Bills could win the AFC East. The very same Bills that still nobody takes serious.

You're trying to request something? I'm still patiently waiting for your analysis of the Packers v 49ers game from the other week. You've had a lot of insight to share on every other Green Bay game. You still looking for tape in the film room or something?

You need to get over this whole AB thing man

Patriots fans freak out because their team lost a game by 7 points.

Not freaking out so much as venting my frustration of what's been playing out in plain sight, which you could see coming months ago, and yet their grand move was trading for Sanu (after dropping Gordon).

The last two scores honestly flatter the Patriots. They were barely in these games, and are just painful to watch. Hell, Tony Romo seemed to enjoy watching it even less than I did. Everyone with half a brain can see how bad they look now, and the haters who've been parroting the same spiel for years, suddenly feel vindicated that they had it right all along.

For the record on AB, I no longer even think it's feasible to bring him onto the team. After his second time sharing something about the owner, you just can't have someone in your locker room who's openly mocked the owner of your team multiple times now, so that door is closed. I just lament that it had to come to this. There's no real reason they had to cut him in the first place, and all they ended up doing was hurting him and themselves, when it probably would've just blown over had they stood strong (how can they suspend someone on a team when they've still yet to find anything).

As long as I'm watching Brady throw to two rookies and Dorsett who can't run routes to save himself, I can't get over it. Offseason can't come quicker for him and this team.

Everyone with half a brain doesn't watch their games to begin with. That's why people on VGC stopped caring about the Super Bowl. Their game against the Rams netted one (1!) post while the Super Bowl was played.

Can't be helped if the Rams v Pats SB was considered unusually boring, that's just how it played out. Year before it was a flat shootout and people criticised the lack of defense. Last year it was a close intense battle, and people complained about the lack of offense and excitement. Not every Super Bowl can be perfect.

Let's see if Pete Carroll made the proper adjustments. If Russell Wilson really is the MVP this year, now would be the perfect time to prove it.

Wow. The refs screwed the pats out of two scoring runs. Phrased as "controversial calls" but to people who watched the game it's more like "absolute bullshit calls". The pats legit got a fumble and had a clear path to the endzone but the refs called it dead and gave the ball back to KC, only for the call to be over ruled as a fumble. The pats got the ball but not the returned touchdown it should have been. Another play is a touchdown pass by brady that the refs called short because they thought the receiver stepped out of bounds when he clearly didn't.
Fuck the refs.

Saints game was heartbreaking. The colts shot themselves in the foot for any playoff chance by losing to the lol Buc's, just like the browns shot themselves in the foot against the Duck.
