Forums - Sony Discussion - Could "Sony Japan Studio" announce something big at TGS 2019?

I believe Sony will continue to release cross gen games on PS4 after ps5 comes, so they very well could announce more major games for PS4 at this point. I'm sure they will want to sell that device for as many years as they can, especially if their next one we're to not do as well.

I don't get the Knack meme. I thought it was a pretty good game when I played it a year or two back (the month it was free on PSN).

But I agree that Sony should not be announcing anymore AAA PS4 games unless they are cross-gen with the PS5. It's about time they revealed the darn thing to us. It's been too long since I've had the feeling of playing a brand new PS console. I'm all for them dropping it this year. :P

Depends what Type of Game would be, If it is more Japan focused, it could it See happen at TGS too

Sure, I think that a JPN focused game could definitely be announced. However, I think that it would be AA or digital at best, which is more in line with what Sony shows off from their studios at TGS (but of course not all the time).

The thing is, I don't see what the incentive is here for Sony to announce a major title from Japan Studios. Western Sony games have sold better in the region, the JPN games aren't selling that well... a major game focused on JPN doesn't seem like a smart move at all imo.

But I am down for anything.

Would love if they would bring back an old Sony jrpg ip (wild arms, alundra, Legend of Dragoon) on AAA Level, but you are right, shouldn't happen at Tgs

I never finished Legend of Dragoon. I don't know that I even made it past the second disc, but I do remember getting it (more specifically, my younger brother got it) back in the day. Strange fact, but my initial first impression of the game was that the damage numbers were too low, as I was used to hitting bigger numbers in the FF games that I had probably played prior to LoD. It turned out to be fun, but my naive mind made the assumption that the characters were weak or that the game wasn't scaled properly because I was used to different numbers popping up when hitting enemies.

But yeah, I was young, and I also thought that the number of discs was directly proportional to how long a game was.

Sure, AA and digital releases: games that aren't big enough to convince a large number of ppl to pick up a PS5. But I am sure Ghost of Tsushima is the last of their AAA games for PS4.

or not... lol we will see

And GoT may become a crossgen as well. But they will hold any announcements to hype PS5, they want to have a fast start like PS4.

Some people really hate Knack, it had sold more than a Mario mainline game in UK and there was an user (ethomaz) that defended Knack a lot so it became a meme based on these 3 pilars.

Maybe Playstation All - Stars 2? Though this seems unlikely.

wild arms, arc the lad, legend of legaia , legend of dragoon, alundra and dark cloud.
Any of those 2 title to be revived before PS5 will be awesome.

That's good imo. As great as the PS4 is, it's time to transition to 5.
