Microsoft announced at the last E3 that their new Xbox Console, the "Scarlett" is coming Holiday 2020. They also revealed some specs, and Halo Infinite as a release title. Well, it will also launch on Xbox One and PC, but I'm sure that it will be more beautiful on Scarlett.

So, as an Xbox One owner, are you excited for the next-gen Xbox? . Do you plan to buy day one? Will you wait to see more details, or do you plan to keep your current gen console for some time?

Not right now. Need to see some good software before I even consider it.

I'm definitely excited for it, as I am for the PS5. I'm not sure if either one will be a day one purchase for me though.

For Xbox, it basically depends on how much better the Scarlet version of Halo infinite is. Halo is really my favorite series, and is the primary reason that I buy Xbox consoles. But, since it's going to launch on the system I already own as well, I don't feel a need to immediately get in to the next generation Xbox. Hugely upgraded performance could change that though.

In any case, I'm sure I'll have one of the next gen systems within a year of launch, and both of them by the halfway point of the generation.

I am excited about MS gaming strategy as a whole, letting player choose wherever he wants to play, on console, xcloud or pc. They just need to crank up more AAA exclusives.

I would think given how this generation has gone the key thing for Scarlett isn't just appealing to X1 owners much like the Switch wasn't aimed at the WiiU player base in the same way the WiiU was directly aimed at the Wii players.

They're taking a long time to create this system though and I would hope that their key aims are in line with that of what Nintendo done with the Switch, make sure it has a plan of action for games, draw up a roadmap of major releases from their own studios to fall each couple of months and most certainly don't allow projects go the way of Crackdown 3 torn between trying to make use of cloud power and actually just making a good game to the point where the final release was effectively 2 separate middle of the road titles.

If the focus goes back to games like it was on the X360 and OG Xbox then I'm all in for it, one thing they could do to dominate the generation early on would be do something for early adopters to the platform... say the first 2 years of Xbox live gold would be free... I mean that during the systems first 2 years, online would be free, that way even if gamers were paying a high cost for the system it would somewhat hide a portion of the cost as it was effectively offering 120e of value in buying the system day 1, also it would give returning players to the xbox brand a starting collection of games and after 2 years of everyone having access to the games with gold then a great many might roll over to paid subs to keep access to their library of titles... just some thinking out loud of what they'll do to win people back, I'm going to be honest here, Gears, Forza and Halo alone won't do it imo.

That's exactly how I feel. I'm excited to see how cloud gaming works out, and I'm starting to see things like Gamepass in a positive light.  The next 5-10 years will be interesting, at the very least.

MS also needs to do more with Halo. One new main line game per generation just isn't enough.

Yeah, I'm always hyped for a new gen. But i'm waiting on seeing the games.

Yeah. Will be a launch day purchase.

--::{PC Gaming Master Race}::--

I am in wait and see mode right now. I bought the X in Spring 2018, and loved it, but I fell in love with Microsofts new strategy even more, and ended up buying a PC. Since getting the PC, I have been playing all of my XGS Games on there.

Basically what I need to see is how close the XB4 OS will be to being Windows Built for TV and Gamepad. If XB4 delivers full blown Windows functionallity, with the additional benefit of working properly with a Gamepad, I will be all over an XB4. If the XB4 OS is still limited, then I will just buy a new PC in 2020 or 2021.

At any rate, I will be supporting Xbox Game Studios going forward, it is just a matter of if it is via Windows 10 and the Windows Store, or Xbox 4 and the Xbox Store. If xCloud comes to Switch, or an Xbox Handheld is made for proper Mobile Gaming, then I will support those as well. I am very pleased with what Microsoft is doing, and I am very happy to fund the cause, and enjoy great entertainement in the process.
