Forums - Sales Discussion - PS4 Beats Wii and PS2, Fastest Console To 100 Million

Not a huge fan of Sony but that is a pretty big achievement, fastest console in the history of the business to get to 100 million.

Not shocked. The ps4 is strong hardware at a reasonable price, followed up with a bunch of great exclusive titles. It has been a winning recipe since the start. Well done Sony. I love my ps4.

I still dont agree with the PS2 vs PS4 comparison since PS2 was only available in Japan for the first 8 months but regardless 100m in 68 months is extremely impressive.

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

Impressive. I would assume it beats the DS to 100m as well?

Nope DS was 51 months.

Thanks.  So PS4 is the fastest selling home console.  Still an impressive achievement.

Historically I'm pretty sure the term console is usually reserved for non portables, but it's just nitpicking

It somewhat depends on the context.  But the term "handheld console" is definitely not something I invented.

Great console, play it alot more than what i did with the ps3. Hopefully Sony can keep it up next generation.

Probably a record that will stand for quite some time. Sony did a good job. Wii could’ve and should’ve still had this record, but that system took forever to get from 95 to 100.
