There are some really bad people out there. Respect doesn't come with who you are, but how you behave and that man behaved like a dick, so he deserves no respect.

By lots of people. Myself for one.  I definitely tend to treat particular interactions with minorities as representative of the group.  It's something I try not to do, but it definitely happens.  I think it's just how we're programmed.  Making generalizations about a large category of things is great for surviving (i.e. a bee stung me I should stay away from bees).  They're not so great when it comes to treating people fairly.  It's something we have to be vigilant against.

I feel bad for the woman that runs the saloon in this case....

This is worse than that "It's mam, Motherf***er!"
Where that nervous kid acidentally calls the trans woman "sir", and shes angered to the point of basically beating him up.


Like there should be room in society for trans too, but damn, this doesnt do good things for the image most people have.
This isnt the way, to better understanding of acceptance.
