I'm experiencing it on my right joycon while paying Splatoon

I had one of my joycons drifting a year after I bought the console, fortunately the repair guarantee was still valid and I got a replacement.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

in my household there is 3 switches, 5 of those joycons have had drift and i have replaced all the sticks with 3rd party replacements. It really annoys me and its has put me off buying a Switch Lite

I had to replace the left one on my launch switch. I had to buiy a new pair of them because the stores no longer sold them as unpaired.

Is this still an issue even after the Switch was revised? It's really been putting me off form getting one. AFAIK there's no free repairs for them here :/

I've got a launch switch and all 4 of my joycons are from around that time. 1 of my left joycons is pretty much unusable. The other 3 are fine.

4 ≈ One

Just had to replace my left stick yesterday.

The repair process is pretty easy honestly, but this isn’t something I should have to worry about.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Got my Switch at launch, and started to get drift in the left joycon about November last year. It's not too bad to be honest, and hasn't really affected my gaming yet. For now, Link just randomly decides he wants to slowly move to the right from time to time.

I've personally fixed drift issues on 3 of my joycons (I've also done a 4th fix but that was my fault for snapping the joystick). I do find it extremely annoying that they don't last longer but it's not a deal breaker for me. The controllers simply have limited lifespans - roughly 2 years in my experience. I do rotate my 2 joycon pairs but I do use my switch roughly 2 hours per day if not more so for some the drift issues may not appear for 3+ years.

If anyone else here grew up with the N64 controllers I feel it's a similar thing. Those analog sticks became useless after a while and you just had to sort it out by buying a new controller. At least with the switch we have the option of buying cheap 3rd party sticks online.

For people who don't know how to fix them I do feel bad for them - I bet a lot of unsuspecting parents will have bought full price replacements as they didn't know any better.

I only have one pair of JoyCons, and they haven't given me any issues. If I used them more, they probably would've drifted by now.
