Do your Joycon drift?

I have 3 different pairs of joycons. The blue/red, pink/green and yellow/yellow and for all of these on the left joycon there has been analog drift. I looked up fixes for this online a few days ago and was surprised to see youtube videos with hundreds of thousands of views and reddit posts with tens of thousands of upvotes. It seems like it's a pretty common problem so i'm curious to hear if anyone else is experiencing this.

It's a huge problem. It's one reason why I won't buy a Switch Lite, even as a gift for someone, until a few months have passed and the control sticks have time to break if Nintendo hasn't fixed the problem by then. If there aren't any complaints, I might get one for my girlfriend, but one concern I have with the Lite is its potential to become a financial disaster for Nintendo if the control sticks are still drifting, because you often can't fix them, and that would mean a lot of people would end up with useless Switches that they can't get new controllers for because they're built in. And I mean useless, because most games are completely unplayable for me now. People would just get rid of their Switch, and feel too burned to get another one, unless Nintendo replaces it, or at least does thousands if not millions of free repairs.

I miss the days when I thought it was only a Joy-Con problem.

Has it happened to your other controllers too? So far I only have one controller it hasn't happened to, and it's third party. I refuse to pay $70 for the Pro controller if there's even a chance this could happen to that thing.

I have 2 switches. The first one started to drift within the first year and has not gone away no matter what i have attempted. It is useless in handheld mode for lots of games.
I do not plan to buy another set of joycons for it for this to possibly happen again. Mainly used docked with pro controller now or on tabletop with pro controller.

The second one purchased approximately 6 months ago and so far so good. I hope it does not have the same fate as the other one.

Ninty dropped the ball on the joy cons. The system is only two years sold, and we've already identified two serious, widespread problems (the de-syncing issue at launch, now drift).

I haven't had any problems with my Switch. But, I've probably only put 200 hours on it. I'm not a big Switch player, so maybe I'll be able to dodge the drift issue.

I experienced drift for like a day and then updated my controllers and never had the problem again

I have had joycon drift in both sets of my joycons for at least a year. It actually made me switch to the pro controller full time.

But I watched a video on Nintendo Life (hello, loooovely peeeple), and now I'm cured.

You need to lift up the membrane underneath the joystick with tweezers or a paperclip, spray a very small amount of electronic cleaner in there, and rotate the stick for a full minute. Then let it dry for at least an hour. Make sure the controller is off and that you don't press any buttons whatsoever as sending electric current through the controller is the very last thing you'd want to do.

Both my neon and gray set are now perfectly fine and I haven't had the slightest bit of drift since.

Unfortunately yes.
The left one on my Switch drifts down sometimes, but so far it hasn't been a huge deal. (When I want to go down one item in a list, sometimes it goes down 2 or 3 items.)

My son's Switch is far worse. His left Joy Con drifts left heavily. Even standing still or aiming in Zelda becomes a huge problem. It got a bit better after blowing in some air, but it shouldn't happen so much in the first place.

Need something off Play-Asia? http://www.play-asia.com/

Yeah. My original Blue and Red have drifted.
I bought the Green and Pink (Splatoon) in January and its working fine for now.

But I also bought the 8bitdo stick which is a USB you plug on to the Switch dock so you can use a Wii U Pro and PS4 controller (I think some Xbone controllers also work) for your Switch. I had a white and Black Wii U Pro controller so it was perfect for me. And I suggest people should do it too.

Thanks. I will try that!
