Nintendo Switch Lite Officially Revealed - $199, September 20th, Dedicated Handheld

It's not for me. And that's okay. If you care about docked play, Joycons, and all the other cut features, well, that's what the regular Switch is for.

This is clearly meant to fill the gap left by the 3DS for a cheap entry level system.

I think it will do very well in that capacity.

Considering X1 and PS4 launched with about 50USD loss and Switch 50 USD profit, you can understand why I call it overpriced. It is about 100 USD gap between it and the other 2. Thus why for me Switch should have costed 199 at launch. The dock and HDMI cable are "pennies" in the cost.

Just because MS and Sony are terrible at managing their own finance so they had to launch ps4/xbox 1 at loss doesn't mean Nintendo have to pretend that they are the same level as those two and selling Switch at loss. Nintendo is a master of managing their own finance and budget, no reason for them to dig the same hole as the others.

This.  Nintendo not selling at a loss doesn't make a product overpriced.  Frankly that has to be one of the dumbest argument I have ever heard.

"The company isn't losing money selling to me, overpriced!!!!."

If it can be docked then almost no point in buying the original model anymore since this is way cheaper, more battery life and have better design form factor.

But once you factor in a hypothetical Lite Dock+controller,  it would be just as expensive if not more.

Correct, but this system is for portable users only

Its a smart move. The more options the better. Also this doesnt sound like a costly experiment either.
I just wish Nintendo drops the support of the 3DS and start bringing dedicated portable only games to Switch instead.

Huh? What are you even talking about? Games that will be playable only in handheld mode?

It's hard to make sense of that statement because Nintendo has no first party games for the 3DS in the pipeline anymore, so everything that is in development is for Switch by now.

Legend11 correctly predicted that GTA IV (360+PS3) would outsell SSBB. I was wrong.

So joy cons are compatible for tabletop mode but yet i don't see that stander attachment like the OG switch.
Any chance that they will make an individual stander like that one for the wii u gamepad?

Well, seems this is what the leaked "Mariko" revision of the Tegra X1 is for; allowing the Lite to be smaller and have longer battery life.

A shrink from the 20nm fabrication process of the regular Switch to 16nm seems probable given the evidence at hand.

Thats great if what you said is true however when they mention support than thats why i asked the question.

Support in this case means continue to sell existing hardware and software at retail, it does not mean continue to release new first party titles.

Plus given their forecast of just 1 million units for the financial year, it's clear production is winding down in preparation for discontinuation. 3DS is done.

Yeah, whatever, won't lose my time discussing with you.
