Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Switch now has over 2400 games

Using Wikipedia as a primary source.

That was your first mistake.

Give it time, that page is going to update with a new sentence that states something along the lines of, "As of July 2019, the Nintendo Switch has over 2,400 games." And it will use the video in the OP as its source.

I didn't expect it to be 100% correct, but the list of X1 games is pretty much spot on so I expected that the numbers would be in the same-ish ballpark and not ~30% off.

The Switch's library may rival the PS2's when it's all said and done.

Will be easy ps2 only had 3800 games.

You should check the US eshop page

There are currently more than 800,000 gaming apps on the iOS appstore and more than 30,000 games on Steam:

Since mobile ports to the Switch are easy and most Nintendo gamers are conditioned used to pay higher prices than on other platforms, the porting wave won't stop/ slow down and will probably accelerate. The indie developers are in a gold rush mood, so Nintendo should be fast to implement a rating system in their eShop.

We are seeing the effect of what Nintendo meant by "easy to port games" on the Switch. And the fact we hear Indie games selling sooo well on the Switch is great to hear. This is a different crowd to what we had on 3DS and Wii U.

Pocky Lover Boy!

How many are physical that actually have th game on the cart and not a crapcom effort?

Lol, wonder how many ps4 has then, and how many are them are tiny games.
Switch is a awesome system and could verry well be the best system ever made

And just like any system, I don't want to play 95% of those 2400 games. Total games released isn't an important metric to me.

1948 PS4 games in the US PSStore and 2159 PS4 games in the German PSStore:

813 of them are marked as "PS4 full games", so the rest is tiny games:

The number of Switch games ain't really a secret since all of them are in the eShop.

You can also filter for retail Switch games (to exclude indies and mobile ports). There are currently 291 Switch games marked as retail versions:

Good to know Switch has almost surpassed 3DS in terms of physical games for sale.

PS2 only had 3800 retail games. In a span of 6-8 years. Switch on the other hand has 2400 games that are mainly Digital Indies. Digital distribution wasn't a thing on PS2. Nothing will ever rival PS2's library.

That's like saying switch succes sales numbers in region x doesn't count because it is a hybrid.  Now it gets a lot of games and we shouldn't count them =p?  Digital distribution wasn't a thing on PS2 because Sony didn't care about it while consoles like xbox had it.  Sure switch may have many small games like sega ages but PS2 had also +100 collections of sega ages/namco etc collections
