Forums - Gaming Discussion - Cadence of Hyrule

Admittedly, I wasn't that enthused about this game when I saw the first trailer for it. Originality had been very much the spirit of Crypt of the NecroDancer, so when I saw a Zelda-fied play on it with remixed Legend of Zelda tracks, my initial conclusion was that Brace Yourself Games had just simply sold out to a major publisher, with the result being a soundtrack that didn't seem half as fun as that of Crypt of the NecroDancer. But then I played the game and, though I still found it less original than CotD, I quickly discovered the soundtrack to be 50 times better than my initial impression and that I actually love that it's set in a Hyrule similar to that from A Link to the Past just nostalgically. It's quickly become a new favorite of mine.

That's all really. I just wanted to say a good word for the game today. Does anyone else here have it?

The soundtrack is amazing.

I LOVE ICELAND!

Bought it and i really like it. I kinda suck at it, though.

Sadly because it is essentially a rhythm-game i have no interest in it, despite it being a Zelda-game

You can turn that off and play it as a rogue-like.

I'm definitely interested, but not $25 interested.

I kind of want to try it, but I'm awful with rhythm games.

There is a mode, in which every monster moves then you move (like the original rogue and early roguelike like nethack and slash'em). This changes the gameplay from rhythm based to more tactical.

Not entirely sure i am a fan of rogue-likes either quite frankly. I might up end up buying if they ever release a physical edition

That's good to know because the rhythm based gameplay scares me a little.
