Forums - Gaming Discussion - The publishing rights of Alan Wake games are reverted to Remedy.

Good game. Maybe the series will find new life--and maybe make it a little less "action-y and a little more cerebral...".

A man can dream, right?

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

Maybe Microsoft had a 10 year contract for publishing.

Meh. We know that Remedy started working on Alan Wake 2 but decided to cancel it because it didn't worked or something like that, and Microsoft said that they would love it, but it was in the hands of Remedy.

So, the fact that Remedy now also owns the publishing rights, as well as the IP, doesn't really mean anything.

Please excuse my bad English.

Well if they do a remake on PS5 maybe I'll look at it.

While this is great news if Remedy will port Alan Wake to multiple consoles (the Switch could also be in the mix), I believe Control will need to sell pretty good in order to make this happen. Since Control is what Remedy stated they wanted to get back to, it should be a pretty good benchmark on their capability in the market to see how well their game design, concept and marketing can work going multiplat after being under MS for so long.

I'd love to see a remake that returns the game back to its original vision. An open world thriller.
