For me it isn't, but I can see it being very interesting for a lot of people.

I have no interest in Game Pass, or any service like it. My game collection is superior to it. Larger. Higher quality. And I own my stuff. No need to concern myself with wrapping up a game like MGS V under time constraints because it may be pulled from the service next month. And that's just the games I own. I have another 350-ish in my PS+ library.

Who knows though. Maybe some time down the line, a service like this will be more appealing. Doesn't fit my needs at all currently.

Didn't vote in the poll. Game Pass sure doesn't look like a system seller right now. I think it's fair to say it's had no impact on system sales thus far.

You mean these " totally not made up stories " to make a brand look amazing and another make bad threads?

Everytime time i see "because a friend of mine ... etc etc ... look how amazing this brand is ... " , i call BS, sorry OP. i dont believe anything you said.

You wanted to make a thread about how great is game pass, fine, do it , you dont need to make up stuff IMO you made this all up , to " sell " your brand of choise.

Bingo!  Give this man a prize.  The OP can ask the same questions without some comparison story to make one brand better than the other, especially with their posting history. He/his friend look silly,  He could have gotten gamepass for PC, bypassing the Xbox one purchase, he could have compared PSNow with Gamepass see they offer a great deal of the same games outside exclusives.. he then goes to mention two PS but opts for gamepass instead, it all seems fishy.

*phone

My friend just wants to play multiplatform games that can't be played on the switch and to save money. He isn't interested in any Xbox exclusive outside of Gears of war and as you can tell from my original post he prefers ps4 exclusives. Thus the reason why I ask if xbox game pass a system seller. However, keep getting defensive about it.

Interesting take. When someone says that they are a Nintendo fan and smears Nintendo (be it users on this site or Colin Moriarty), you don't doubt their claims. But when there's a story about a huge Nintendo fan who buys an Xbox instead of a PlayStation, it has to be fake.

Snoopy supports Team America, so it's not hard to imagine that he really has a friend like that. After all, people tend to choose likeminded people as their friends.

On topic: No. Game Pass isn't even exclusive to Xbox, so rather than a system seller it's a way to get people to invest money in games that can be played on an Xbox without necessary having to buy an Xbox. As a result, there won't be a significant positive impact on Xbox sales regardless of SKU and price.

My friend actually doesn't care too much about Xbox exclusives outside of Gears of war. He thinks Xbox exclusive is just okay, but nothing great for the most part. He is a big Nintendo Nut and you would probably be more like-minded in regards to video games.

I recently got an Xbox 1 from a friend. He talked me into game pass. I was super iffy on the idea BECAUSE IT MEANS I OWN NONE OF THE GAMES! If I ever stop paying bam no games. That being said it's hard not to use it now I have it. If there is ever a giant EMP our culture will be erased.

Not for me. I have multiple Xbox One consoles and I don't even have Game Pass. I may jump on it soon, though. I want Gears V and Ori 2. They were already day one buys but I can play them with Game Pass and save a lot of money. What's not to love?

Dude seriously change your gold to ultimate game pass with the deal, Even if it is only 20 bucks of gold you change you get 4 months of ultimate  game pass.

Well, first of all, the Gamepass initiative isn't event exclusive to Xbox anymore since they announced it for PC recently. Sure, it certainly could be an incitive to get the console but after looking at how "good" the catalog of exclusives the Xbone had throughout this generation, then I'd say they'll have to up their game by a considerable notch.

PS. : Using their usual trio (Halo,Forza and Gears) won't be enough this time too.

It is a console exclusive and most people, especially casual gamers don't have a good gaming rig and don't want to spend the money.

Nope. Exclusive single player games are a system seller for me. That's why i usually prefer Playstation or Nintendo.

The main problem with Gamepass is the games. If the Switch had a service like this, then I'd probably do it.

I believe that gamepass will be a console seller and MS is positioning it as a auto sub for anyone looking to purchase a MS Console. By MS having all of their exclusives day one playable from gamepass, MS is positioning gamepass to be a purchase right along with the console since you instantly get 100+ games you can download and play day one. You really cannot dismiss the advantage of playing all MS exclusives not including any of the extra content they get on gamepass as the library increases. Including PC into the space add even more advantage as this can be an easy entry for some to purchase the console and get ultimate. Its a very smart business model and something the competition doesn't have and cannot replicate. If MS continue to add more high profile content to the service and market it correctly, it can be something that truly separate MS console from the competition.

I know for me, this E3 with a lot of games I am interested in coming to gamepass, this is the first time I looked serious at the service and purchase a sub.
