2017 was a great year but how can I forget 1998?

In 1998 have seen the light:

- Half-Life
- Zelda: Ocarina of Time
- Banjo Kazooie
- F-Zero X
- Castlevania Symphony of the Night (or it was 1997?)
- Final Fantasy Tactics
- Resident Evil 2
- Tekken 3
- Panzer Dragoon Saga
- Radiant Silvergun
- Xenogears
- Parasite Eve
- Star Ocean 2nd Story
- Suikoden 2
- Metal Gear Solid
- Spyro the Dragon
- MediEvil
- Crash Bandicoot Warped
- Sonic Adventure
- Pokemon Yellow
- Wario Land 2

Might I have the honour of being the first to welcome you to our dimension, from this wondrous parallel universe you hail from where the bolded games all came out on the N64? ;)

Mario Kart Wii, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, Wario Land: The Shake Dimension, Trauma Center: New Blood and Okami.

Legend11 correctly predicted that GTA IV (360+PS3) would outsell SSBB. I was wrong.

For me there's some contenders.

2005: Mario Kart DS + Animal Crossing Wild World + Super Mario Strikers
2008: Mario Kart Wii + Smash Bros Brawl
2017: Mario Kart 8D + Mario Odyssey + BOTW + Mario Rabbids.

Predictions (Made July 2019)

LTD: PS4 - 130m, Switch - 110m, XBO - 52m       2019 : PS4 - 15m, Switch - 18.8m, XBO - 4.8m        2020: Switch - 22m (Peak Year)

2008 or Fiscal 2009 is the year Nintendo decisively dominated, not just videogaming, but home electronics as a whole.

Over 400 million pieces of software sold.
Over 57 million hardware units sold.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

On a personal level, it´s still the 1991-1992 period with the SNES, so many gems.

2008 and 2009 were incredible years for sales, but for me they were kinda average in terms of their game lineup.

In terms of good games, for Wii's 2008 I'd nominate Mario Kart Wii, COD World at War, de Blob, No More Heroes, Shaun White Snowboarding, World of Goo.

For 2009, Silent Hill Shattered Memories, Wii Sports Resort, NSMBWii, COD Modern Warfare, Dead Space Extraction, Muramasa.

I don't think either are as bad as they're often made out, but at the same time I don't think they're anything really special.
