That's still a lot of time. Also, if they are using boost mode... does this mean that in handheld mode there is no improvement?

The CPU boost can be used in handheld.
Is there a reason the track Thunderstruck never shows up as an option online in the Switch version?

Because it has a massive shortcut? it got a patch for PS4/xbox but I am not sure about the Switch version.
So I need now less than 90.000 wumpacoins (estimated because I am not sure how much the sticker cost and it seems lower than I expected).... if the next grand prix start on the third of august I need less than 6.000 wumpacoins a day....If it starts on the 7th august I need less than 5.000. Game has taken over my gaming life ^^'.

It's still far from ideal, on any platform really, but at least there is a significant improvement.
And as Barkley points out, it should work in both docked and handheld mode.
Overall, I'd say it's one of the better ports from PS4 to Switch. It looks nice, runs well, is all on the game card; my only gripe was with the load times, and now they're somewhat alleviated.
