I'm a Pokémon fan (or was, I guess), not a CEO, so obviously I don't care as much about the money. But yeah when I say "kill" it's for the reboot that comes later. There would still be an anime and a TCG, but the anime wouldn't have Ash (or derivative movies), and the TCG would be rebooted and have less bullshit, aka more balance. The games, well, yeah, I'd go for the 25m seller every 4-5 years instead of the yearly 15m seller they do now - I don't know how they still get away with it, but if franchises as big as GTA can do as well as they have with several years between games, Pokémon can do it too.

I wouldn't say from 2013 onward. Of course, you know I love X/Y, but beyond my personal feelings on the game, let's be real, that game did everything Sword/Shield isn't doing now. It might have been somewhat incomplete, leaving a couple things unresolved, but what it needed to do, it absolutely did. They made almost 800 Pokémon models for that game, all with their own animations for battle entrance, physical attacks, special attacks, some signature moves, getting hit, fainting, and loads more for Pokémon-Amie despite it being nothing but an irrelevant mini-game - and they also redid every single Pokémon cry in better quality, featuring a number of cry variations for that same mini-game. All of that, in less than 3 years of development time. So, yeah, I think it's quite extreme to call that game lazy just because it left unfinished areas in Route 13 and Couriway Town.

First off, the pokemon models (at least gens 1 to 5), were made by Creatures and not Game Freak. Though I'll not take credit away from Game Freak they still made the 3D environments, and the lighting/shaders for all of the models. Pokemon Amie integration. A ton of work.

Game Freak isnt lazy. They have hardworking developers.

It's just that they are mismanaged and often make poor decisions. Just look at the part I've bolded. WHY? After having four year gens prior, why do they make them SHORTER, when the technology improvements only means that will need more time? There was literally no reason to not delay the game to 2014.

Other than that, I have a huge list of what I think Game Freak has been doing wrong (which we may not neccessarily agree on). A lot to do with the casualization of the core games, but also other stuff. Though let me just leave it this, my disdain with Game Freak/TPC in a nutshell:

Edit: my mistake. Though Morimoto is still around. Maybe he likes sticking with battle design and programming, which he has done for decades. He has directed two games in the franchise and is one of the long-time veterans along with Sugimori and Masuda. Maybe he doesn’t really pursue directing as much?

As of now, Ohmori is the director and Masuda is the producer.

The irony of that tweet is that Morimoto (who’s actual name is Shigeru Ohmori) is the director of Sw/Sh while Masuda is the producer.

Um, what? Why would he have a fake name as director? (lol)

No, Shigeru Ohmori is the guy sitting next to Masuda there, he's been the director of every mainline Pokémon game since OR/AS, with Masuda as producer of all of them. Shigeki Morimoto is still involved, but he was only director back in HG/SS.

that was my mistake. I mixed up the names and faces. :P

Clear out the entire executive team of Konami. All of them. If that won't do, have them sell their IP to developers who will treat them with the respect they deserve and make worthy successors. Give first right of refusal of any project to Kojima productions. Have anyone that who greenlighted Metal Gear Survive appear on a live stream to punch themselves in the dick repeatedly for every single unit TPP sold that Survive didn't.

In before KGB starts ranting about Sony putting playstation operating systems on smart phones and TVs

Yes I know. Ohmori's the director. But Masuda still has a big hand in the games, he's on the Game Freak board of directors. I believe it's both at fault.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

At least when Masuda was director, there were good, or decent at worst, games being made. I feel like he's solid as a director, but a terrible producer, and Ohmori is equally as terrible as a director. It's all just wild guessing when it comes to these things, though.

Do you have a videogame company that you used to be a fan of, but don't like anymore? Guess what? In this thread you are now president of that company. Steer them back to the greatness that once was!

I'll go first...

1. Reboot Fable. Make a new game just called Fable Legends, which starts the series over gain. Remaster Fable I and II for PC/XB1.

2. Get Rare to make Banjo 3.

3. Just release your Microsoft studio games on Steam. Nobody cares about the windows store.

4. Make Killer Instinct into a fighting game, that you can actually buy complete on day 1. No more of these greedy DLC packs.

5. Heavily court Japanese publishers/developers so that games like Nioh, Neir Automata, Ni No Kuni 2, etc. don't get delayed or not released on XB1.

6. Release your games in a finished state.

7. Give XB1 some mouse/keyboard functionality, and allow RTS/4X games to be published to XB1.

8. Contact From Software and bring back Chromehounds.

1. Fable reboot is pretty much hapenning already. Fable I remake already exists, it's called Fable Anniversary. Fable II was remastered when it got the Xbox One X patch (just like Fable Anniversary and Fable III).

2. No point in doing that. Just because the studio is called Rare doesn't mean that all Banjo developers are still there. Rare's recent games have been rather mediocre. Why would you want a mediocre Banjo 3?

3. Microsoft is already doing that. Halo MCC is coming to Steam, Gears 5 too. Even though I completely disagree with that move. That's like Epic releasing their biggest games on Steam instead of keeping them exclusive to EGS.

4. Killer Instinct wasn't greedy at all. You might want to check that again. By buying all of the three season packs when they launched, you'd spend $60. Also the devs clearly had no idea how long MS would support the game, so there's no way to judge what pricing for a complete product would be fair.

5. Pretty much doing that already.

6. Agreed, but that's true for many publishers.

7. Keyboard and mouse support is already on Xbox 1 and a few RTS games are playable with them. However I agree that more of them should come to the platform. No idea why Civ 6 got ported to Switch but not X1. Same could be said about Age of Empires.

8. okay.....I'd rather have a new Ninja Blade. Especially after the poor Ninja Gaiden 3.

Rare - To make a Perfect Dark 2 or Banjo Threeie game. (But dont force Rare, if they want to make it than let them)

MS - To release Lost Odyessey 2 and Blue Dragon 2 to attract the Japanese market.

Just to add to your comment,
Killer Instinct wasnt a greedy game. It sold 3 DLC packs with monster value and to own the complete package cost less than a full price game.

Also MS wont abandon the Win10 store. Rumour had it that they will push Gamepass exclusive on it which boosts giant value for the store. MS will just cover both grounds.

I will improve working morale at Nintendo by scrapping the hardware business and let my developers create games for less restricted platforms. EZ profit.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

1. Steer Sony into stop targeting and censoring Japanese games.
2. Steer every Japanese video company to ignore the modern standards of (western) society and don't change or censor anything for them.
