Forums - Gaming Discussion - IS there an exclusive AAA PC game that uses max power made from the ground up(game)

Yes, the discounts are different on both platforms, because PC is mostly digital, so no problem to link them, meanwhile on consoles there are also retail games discounts, or 2nd hand offerings, this makes it kinda impossible to direct comparisions, simply because your best discount may be a Russian shop offering.

By Steam tax I meant eshop's fee on every sold game, this model is reasonable on console market, but on PC, not feeling it. Also it kinda shots at PC as " open" platform, because there are mandatory clients.

Star Citizen? So far, they got Crytek's lawsuit,pay2win controversy, lmao things like monetized stream ( srsly?),TBA release date, not to even mention Waporware 2016 award. I said the game has its own problems and next gens may arrive earlier than this, both points stand.

Kero? Maybe u mean kerotan? I guess I saw him here like a year ago.

I can still walk into game and see PC physical and even discounts for the digital codes sold there as well. The only core difference there, is that you cannot return said PC game or code, because it's strictly down to the code being used, and ofc, the fact that no retailer holds any trust in anyone not using the key, and returning it to the store, assuming the customer did not use the key. Afaik that has always been a thing for years.

Don't forget that buying second hand may seem like an advantage to you, but not everyone wants to buy games used, and even then, buying second hand doesn't benefit the devs as the retailers get the majority of second hand sale profit. If you don't care about that critical point, then really, you wouldn't be caring about the devs making money. You should want to buy the disc brand new, not used.

Yes, but you're implying or asserting, that Steam tax is the only tax in the entire industry, ignoring the tax the big 3 impose, as well as the costs made for patching said games. On Steam, there is no extra added cost for patching a game, hence why you're seeing games starting out on PC via ea, then being completed and sold later on consoles. Consoles themselves have their own added split and taxes towards devs, not only just Steam, and certainly not the only storefront with a high split either.

I don't see how it's "reasonable" on the console market, especially with second hand gaming. You're basically excusing any high tax and lack of sales towards devs, but not for the PC market, seems lop sided to me.

Afaik that lawsuit isn't on-going, but I assume you've only been paying attention to that and the "apparent" P2W rumours. "next gen's may arrive earlier"?.

No, they don't stand, because others have already debunked them beforehand. You just choose not to.

He hasn't even been gone for a year either.

The reality is that everybody is targeting console market because them moneyz and all ur ultra rigs, without mods, would be generally useless. Everybody remembers the famous " it's PC only nobody cares"line.Well, Xbox allows M+K, also there are mid gen upgrades, so only this 30FPS point stands, but still, with latest Samsung Game Motion Plus mode, there will be a great help for it.

Basically this is the answer why there is no PC AAA exclusives besides niche genres and indies. There is no need.

What is a fun game for you is your thing, Sony's games are scoring GoTy and got universal praise for their graphics/tech.

The PC is an absolutely massive platform. I wouldn't be so eager to discount it.

Does anyone want to let him know that consoles aren't the biggest market for revenue and profitability?, especially in terms of player size as well.

Also I fail to see how "ultra rigs" are made "worthless", that seems entirely baseless and more of a desired wish.

"it's PC, nobody cares", was one line found in a Ubisoft games text file, but that was about it, and even then it was hardly "world" infamous.

I like how it's just "30fps point stands, everything else is moot".

Thing is, it's not even a founded, objective "answer" as to why the title even exists.

"what is a fun game is your thing", which sounds awfully close to "your opinion on a game doesn't matter", especially when followed up by X console scoring meta reviews = being objectively better than anything in the known universe, kind of logic.

I wouldn't be so eager to discount it myself, but here we are, one guy discounting it at every turn, no matter what, and he thinks he's objectively right. Either he's bad ad admitting defeat, or he's actually living up to his title name, and well, if it's the latter, that's not good.

The PC market is quite healthy. Games don't exist because of consoles, consoles exist because of games.

Consoles will never deliver the same experience as PC because the platform holders don't want it to do that, which is why all of these attempts to deliver slightly more power and freedom are only half assed.

Maybe there is a problem if even the most critically acclaimed games cannot sway PC fans to play on console.

Maybe it's because consoles can't even clear the lowest of lowest bar for choice in gaming. The restrictiveness of consoles is basically what fuels the PC market.

Well, it depends what games we are talking about. Of course there is a bulk of PC only games, let's say MMOs, and you can not experience them elsewhere. This is fine.

From bussines POV, multiplats aim for consoles, heck even Witcher 3 sold 70/30. That is why a new generation of consoles is like an earthquake for every gamer, developer and publisher. There is no escape. It's good that PC is pushing new tech of course, but it changes next to nothing, the consoles are a true change, like Bluray, HDR, and stuff. Because they are the mainstream.

Maybe this is a problem, I just wanted to highlight one thing -  despite lack of pure power, they can still deviler THE games and THE tech.

Most of PC fans, I guess, plays some freebie online game with a shitton of microtransactions, what is the biggest engine for the market. Browser games are 15% of the market, not the high  tech quality exclusives.

No dev would spend millions on a game for a tiny public that can afford the most powerful processor/GPU on the market. PC multiplat games are already a much better experience than the console counterparts for those who can afford the specs needed. It is more than enough. Currently, the 10 biggest games for PC when it comes to money making are F2P games that can run on cheaper specs, with the only exception being WoW which is P2P.
