Was hoping for something along the lines of a stellar SP or even a co-op based game from Ninja, considering they hit a nice home run with Hellblade.

It's not really doing it for me, so I'm going to be sitting on the bench for likely another 5 ish years until NT decide to same another Sp game. Assuming they will actually go back to making one, because studios that tend to make a few MP based games, hardly ever go back to making SP titles. Especially if they hit a "home run" with MP based games (looking at you Epic and your shitty BR clone).

Don't worry, Ninja Theory has multiple teams and according to leaks and rumors their next game after Bleeding Edge will be a singleplayer game from the Hellblade team.

Multiple teams?.

SO who's the original?, because I've sen EA do this with Bioware, because they made a version of Bioware, that wasn't ME Bioware, but some deformed team, that was merged with Victory studios to become Bioware Victory, which was then liquidated when they cancelled C&C Generals 2.

Who is the team that's working on this MP only based game?, not Ninja Theory?. I don't like this "We just made up a new team within our team, but they clearly never were with us from the start or what made us special, but you gotta see them as though we were us" kind of gig.

I think Pubs need to stop using a Team's name, and just start calling different teams different names.

Actually they had multiple teams even before MS acquired them. Supposedly Bleeding Edge has been in development since 2015 or 2016 I believe, when they released a tech demo for a melee combat multiplayer game. They released 2 games in 2017, Dexed and Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, and since then they've released 2 different VR games (Hellblade VR and Nicodemus) with a 3rd VR game in development now, Star Wars: Vader Immortal, which MS has to let them finish due to a contractual obligation. Rumor is, once they finish Vader Immortal, MS plans to have all of their multiple teams working on games for Xbox/Windows. Supposedly MS specifically bought them because they proved with Hellblade that they could build AAA quality games with single A sized dev teams due to some new development technology they made (Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice was developed in 3 years by a team of less than 20 people). MS has been staffing NT up since they bought them, and rumor is they plan to split their 100+ developers across 3 teams, with the goal being 1 game per year, with each game getting 3 years of development. Bleeding Edge will be their first game in this yearly cycle, with a new singleplayer game by the Hellblade team coming in 2021, and a new game from the 3rd team which they plan to form out of the VR teams coming in 2022.

It is not uncommon to have a studio with multiple projects they were working on this while also working on Hellblade. Obsidian also mentioned they are working on more projects.

I'm not a fan of the art style. We have enough squad based arena type games out there already. If this wound up getting glowing reviews, I'd still pick it up for PC at least. Something like 84 or higher would get me to at least buy it and try it.

Having said that though, Hellblade's strength seems to be single player. So why they would spend their time on this is puzzling. I'm dissapointed that they're working on this and not another single player game.

But that seems to be what MS wants all it's new studios to do. They've got to make multiplayer games for gamepass. Someone at Hellblade said they chose to work on this on their own. "MS didn't effect our choice to make this game." That could all be just marketing BS for all we know though.

So you think Microsoft bought Ninja Theory, and they somehow completed a game in a single year? Let alone by a pretty small team?

Bleeding Edge has been in development years before MS even bought them.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

No, I think they had been working on this years prior, but shelved it to work on other games. Lots of games get thrown on the back burner or cancelled before they are even announced. If MS didn't want multiplayer games for gamepass, I'm not so sure this would have ever seen the light of day.

I would be more excited if it was a SP game. Cool art style at least.

MS is letting their devs work on whatever they want. Bleeding Edge was made by one of Ninja Theory 20 person teams since 2014.
