Then why did you talk about a Mario killer?

It was a joke, I went on a tangent because few really care about Battletoads. Frankly, if this game sucks I'd be concerned MS may never want to touch the IP again.

On a side note, MS really should launch this on Switch day one. Its not a game that moves hardware and it would boost revenue.

Doesnt have to suck for MS not to touch it ever again...

Thing is, it was the original Ninja Turtles series that was "cheap".
Along with all the other muscle-men series of the 80s and early 90s.

The characters were designed by people with no background in animation, and the productions were shipped off to the far east. And the results would show as much.

You may not like the new designs, but I'd believe it if someone told me it made for a much better cartoons than the old ones did.

Agreed, MS has a treasure trove of IPs that they could do cool things with. But the sales potential isn't always there.

Sometimes it just doesn't happen because the project they were working on sucked, I'm looking at you Fable Legends.

I believe Gamepass will solve this situation or at least Phil and company will give it a shot.

Yeah, games not dependent on Xbox software sales alone is good.

Software revenue for MS is going to be significantly higher between Game Pass, PC support, Switch ports and likely other plans in the future that will make their games available to more people.

Seemingly risky projects like rebooting Rare games become more viable if they can rely on more platforms. They may ignore PlayStation in many cases because its their direct competitor, but Xbox, Switch and PC is a big audience.

Hold on there, Fable Legends dint look all bad. I thought it was a nice multiplayer addition, but it needed a Single player story with the character development fable is known for. If the Forza people are really doing fable 4, then I say make a traditional fable and then attach fable legends to it as the multiplayer component.

I actually spent time with the beta. On paper I liked what Fable Legends was, it made me think of Phantasy Star Online. In practice though, it just wasn't a fun game. It was slow, I often felt confused about what was happening and there wasn't much personality in the story telling that was there.

It didn't need to be a traditional Fable game per se, it could have blurred the lines between single player and multiplayer game as does Phantasy Star Online before it or Destiny. Hence, you can have a story driven experience with missions that are enjoyable alone or with others. I bet it could be salvaged into an enjoyable product, but the beta was just a boring game.

Fable Legends wouldn't work as a multiplayer component, its not just some PvP or co-op mode. Again, I see it as some sort of Phantasy Online or Destiny style of game. I think that's what they were going for but it just sucked.

Never tryed the beta, ill take your word for it. Im always pro savaging a game. Shortens dev time and makes me feel better that the work the devs put in was not a full waste.

Right, it seems like much of the work was completed and even by today's standards it had great visuals. Tweak the gameplay and it could be solid launch title for next gen. Those visuals at 4K/60 fps would be quite sexy.

However, when it comes to MS it seems like cancelling games is a firm decision.
