Forums - Gaming Discussion - AA games you really enjoyed?

With the death of the 3DS AA games have become an endangered species. Every once in a while though, I'll find a nice title priced at $40, with production values that are too good to be an Indie.

I just finished Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom this week. At first I wasn't going to buy it, because I was taken aback by the $40 price tag, for what looked like an Indie game. PowerLevelAmy's review of the game managed to get me to buy it. I enjoyed the game a lot.

So anyway what AA games have you enjoyed in the past couple years?

P.S. I have Bloodstained on Pre-Order.

Does the latest No More Heroes count as AA?

Yes. It was $40 and was more than just a pixel game.

Does Captain Toad: TT count as AA? If so, that's probably my top seed of the last several years.

Well, many of the good VR games fall in the AA category, so

Lone Echo, Astro Bot: Rescue Mission, Moss, Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice VR, Robo Recall, Arktika.1, Serious Sam VR, The Talos Principle VR, The Gallery, Obduction, WipEout Omega VR, Chronos, Subnautica, Raw Data, Wilson's Heart, Until Dawn: Rush of Blood and Farpoint.

Also the "Life is Strange" seasons and many "Telltale Games" seasons.

I also liked Recore a lot. That's probably a more definite AA game.

Not sure if it counts, but Cuphead and Ori are must haves imo.

Does Hellblade count as AA, cause that is one. I also enjoyed Monster Boy. Not entirely sure what to consider AA

I don't think they do.

AA is hard to quantify, but I know I would rather play those games over most AAA SP games this generation.

I forgot about Ori. If we're counting that, it's probably tied with Captain Toad for me.
