What's Naughty Dog been doing this whole console generation?

Forums - Gaming Discussion - What's Naughty Dog been doing this whole console generation?

Whatever you feel about Naughty Dog's actual games, I feel like it's a bit odd to call them out specifically for not releasing games consistently. If anything they've done a great job of staying consistent with game releases despite game development taking longer and being more expensive.

TLOU Remastered is a great port that was developed in-house and allowed them to get more used to the PS4's tech, so I feel like it should count, especially because it's a PS3 game that was developed on very different architecture.

They basically made two different Uncharted games already.

And they have TLOU 2 coming, and probably a new IP.

That's four games this gen.

1) Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection (bluepoint, but naughtydog probably kept overview of it)
2) Uncharted 4: A Thief's End
3) Uncharted: The Lost Legacy
4) Last of Us - Part II

👍

I would rather ask what the hell media molecule is up too, they still haven't released a single game this gen, nor have set a release date to actually release Dreams.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

If only it was Jak 4.

I'm 100% sure now that TLOU2 is a cross-gen late 2020 title.

They did release Tearaway (2013), and then remastered it(2015).

They also had a lot of trouble with Dreams.  There was something from one of the devs about having to redo something major three different ways because it just wasn't giving the effect they were hoping for.

It's also important to note that they are a very small studio.

What's the point in cross-gen if PS5 will support PS4 discs? Did you see a lot of cross-gen games between PS1-PS2? They will release it for PS4 since it has huge install base and you will be able to play it on PS5 just fine. Mark my words.

So ND releases 2 new games with a 3rd right around the corner on PS4 and 4 ports if you include Uncharted Collection (not sure if collection was in house, but TLoU was), but Bend launches 1 game, SSM launches 1 game with 1 port, GG launches 2 games, Sucker Punch launches 1 game with only 1 other coming at the end of the gen...and don't even get me started on Poly Digital...

Yeah lets gang up on ND, they clearly have no been putting out this gen...

Again, I'm 100% sure there'll be a PS5 edition. Why sell a game once when you can sell it twice?

MS is doing it with Halo and Nintendo did it with Twilight Princess to great sucess, so that's a valid market strategy.

Naughty Dog has been one of the most active SIE teams this gen. They have two of the biggest franchises this generation!
