I dont see how you can play a game if you have it in your hands and not in the console/pc

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

I've got around 150 games for switch, 40 or so of which are physical. I got a 400 GB micro that's full, but I love digital. I love having it all right there. While I do try to get cartridges, the convenience of digital is very alluring to me. A few big games are digital, fire emblem, Mario odyssey, and... I cant think of them. I've been meaning to add my list to the thread that's about 1st and 3rd party switch games... I've been too lazy to sit down and make the list. Haha.

About 75%.

I casually buy digital if the game is short, especially if they're legacy games or indie games.

Bigger games, definitely physical.

About in the 61-70% range. I got a PS4 in July 2019, but only own 2 physical games for it. This is largely due to the deals on PS Plus, and the free games.
Switch, on the other hand, is largely physical. Wii U was almost entirely physical, as was 3DS. And then my PC games (Steam) are all digital.
Physical is my preference, and sometimes it is cheaper. On the other hand, digital can be cheaper too. But when a new game comes out for $60, I'm just about always going to get the physical version.
For movies (if anyone cares), I'm largely physical. I'd say more so then games. That's because most major Blu-ray and 4K Blu-ray releases have Digital HD included.

Lifetime Sales Predictions

Switch: 151 million (was 73, then 96, then 113 million, then 125 million, then 144 million)

PS5: 115 million (was 105 million) Xbox Series S/X: 57 million (was 60 million, then 67 million)

PS4: 120 mil (was 100 then 130 million, then 122 million) Xbox One: 51 mil (was 50 then 55 mil)

3DS: 75.5 mil (was 73, then 77 million)

I think the last physical title I bought was SMC for Switch. That was a year ago. While I'm willing to buy physical over digital when the price is right and I definitely do not want to lose the option for physical games on my console(s), I've pretty much gone all digital at this point.

Years ago I was around the 50% mark, but now I'm all the way down to 0.5%. Digital is just perfect for me these days than it was back in the days of me carrying an external HDD. Even on Switch I choose to purchase digital over physical, mostly due to convenience and saving space.
