Mohamed Noor is an African born policeman and he made a terrible mistake and shot first. A white woman was accidentally killed by Noor's actions. If this was a white cop, he would walk free and celebrated as having done his job and shot them before he got shot. This is a travesty of justice and my heart goes out to Noor and his family and he should walk free now. America we have a Civil rights issue here. African Americans you must stand up and make noise over these type of issues it is wrong and is blatant racism. 

It is a case of kill or be killed. Noor instinctively reacted as typical of policeman to a threat that he believed was a threat to his life and his partner's life and shot first. I understand a life was lost and that is tragic but in split second decisions, cops do not have time to think about it being unarmed person or  whatever it is kill or be killed.

With all due respect, other people getting off more leniently than they should is hardly an argument for why someone else should go free.

As far as I understand the case, Noor shot a figure based entirely on the fact that the figure surprised him. There was no weapon on the victim, nor did he claim the victim posed or even appeared to be posing a threat to his life. It's difficult to argue that he should walk free, imo.

There's certainly a reasonable discussion to be had about whether there's a double standard for police crimes in the country, but I don't think the answer is "let everyone walk free because some people do."

Sounds like he was startled and accidenctally shot her.

Mistakes like this arnt supposed to happend.
If a woman calls the cops because she suspects a woman nearby is being raped, and then ends up dead (herself, killed by a cop), afterwards something went horribly wrong along the way.

In that case I think its fine he got sentenced 12years of jail time.

I'm a black guy and former cop. This guy was wrong and deserved to be sentenced. That lady should still be alive. The problem is that so many others should be guilty, too.

I'm not the judge/jury but based on personal experience, not everyone is cut out for "the job". Yeah, we were trained to survive, yell "stop resisting", and to say "I feared for my life" but there are intangibles that a lot of these cops just don't seem to have. Balls, if you will. Lethal force should be the last resort after you tried talking and even fighting if it comes to it. Sometimes all you can do is react but use the gun LAST.

And another part of the problem is US. As black people (and maybe white, I don't know. Can't speak for them.) it's like we HAVE to be confrontational. We have to show that we're not bitches. We have to be there hardest. Other races are paying attention. They're scared of us. Somebody else could be paying the price for something another person did.

There was a viral video a month or two ago from my area where two guys were fighting.. One guy was knocked to the ground and the other guy proceeded to stomp on his head and neck with the full weight of his body. Nobody helped the man who was stomped. Nobody called 911. Everyone just walked away as one guy said "Y'all know how it is. When a bunch of gorillas get together in the jungle, it's gonna be trouble."

That kind of brutality is common. I remember seeing stuff like that first hand, even as a kid. We can ask other races to show us sympathy but damn. Sometimes we're our own worst enemy. Everyone is watching, now. 

My solution would be the reverse: leave that guy in jail and imprison all those other trigger happy cops who shot unarmed civilians.

Your right about brutality being a factor too, some places in the US seem pretty "rough" by compairson to what most of europe is like.

The american culture, and people legally owning guns, make being a cop alot harder, than it probably is say over here.

That behaviour makes me sick,if i feel someone needs to be protected i just cannot stand back even if i know it will get me hurt i take a broken nose or a blue eye/bruises anyday if it keeps someone out of the hospital.

Everyone is watching indeed,or recording because other people suffering is entertainment for some.
