I didn't watch the whole thing but I saw the Tales of Arise trailer and it looks so friggin' amazing, and the Dragon Ball game looks good too (but I wanted to play as adult Gohan )

I started low.
Like a 3.

However if I factor in a "wtf factor" I can see it being a 5.

Like WTF at Blair witch in 2019. Or Lego Forza. Phantasy star online is a surprise but also have very little interest in online. Plus I'd be surprised if it isn't coming to PS.
Oh and of course the randomness that is Keanu reeves.

Actually anything that stood out for me is third party. DBZ/Tales/Cyber/Elder etc.

  • Deadliest mass shooting by an individual in US history (10/01/2017)
  • Deadliest high school shooting in US history (02/14/2018)
  • Deadliest massacre of Jews in US history (10/27/2018)
  • Political assassination attempt of TWO former presidents(and 10+ other people)  (10/23/2018 - and beyond)

2/10

A lot of shameless bragging about nothing. While it was a decent showing for Microsoft's standards, I am deducting points because I don't like them.

This.

Soo... what are the 14 1st parties?

1. Ori
2. Battletoads
3. Halo Infinite
4. Gears 5
5. State of Decay 2
6. Bleeding Edge
7. Age of Empires 2 Definitive Edition
8. Forza Horizon 4
9. FLIGHT SIMULATOR
10. Psychonauts 2 (guess this counts as they announced they bought them)
11. Gears Funko
12. The Outer Worlds
13. Minecraft Dungeons
14. Halo MCC??? (wasn't really shown they just mentioned REACH coming out on PC.)

Predictions (Made July 2019)

LTD: PS4 - 130m, Switch - 110m, XBO - 52m       2019 : PS4 - 15m, Switch - 18.8m, XBO - 4.8m        2020: Switch - 22m (Peak Year)

6/10, it was a dissapointment for me, especially after last year's stellar show.

This was Microsoft's shot and they blew it.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

Thought it was ok. But too many of the trailers looked CG and no gameplay but alas.

Hmm, pie.

I'd say a 5.
Good pacing for games, but not much I was excited for.
Keanu in Cyberpunk was awesome, but just a cinematic trailer doesn't do it for me. Same for Elden Ring.

I really liked the look of the new Tales game though.

Combat looks very different.

Was a 6/10 for me. MS was clearly saving up announces for next E3, because they knew that Sony skipped E3 to save up announces for next-E3 as well. That resulted in this years conference being pretty mediocre. Highlights for me were Halo, Borderlands, FH4 Lego expansion, Cyberpunk, Tales, Phantasy Star, and Scarlett reveal.

Not really much that they could have done. Their next console is still more than one year away, so it's understandable that they didn't want to show their hand yet. At the same time though, one has to ask why they bothered to talk about it when they had no intention to go beyond PR fluff.

Sony may be absent from E3, but their marketing contracts with third parties are still active, so it's not like Microsoft could have boasted with footage of more AAA multiplatform games at their show.

Legend11 correctly predicted that GTA IV (360+PS3) would outsell SSBB. I was wrong.

6/10 We need some new games and gameplay.... we got no gameplay for Gears 5 & Halo Infinite.

Got no big annoucement. No hype.
