Switch this year: 33,154
Switch last year: 36,271

Nothing out of the ordinary.

Should be peak year either this year or next year in Japan.  I'll probably go with next year considering AC and mainline Pokemon are releasing towards the end of the year.

As we have seen precisely these last few weeks, a huge 10M release produces a boost no more than 5 months...This was the impact of Smash and SMBU we can say. Now the boost effect is over. I still believe strongly that FY2019 is the peak year since the Switch started to decline now for 5 weeks in a row in Japan in "standard empty period".

Current PB on Secret of Mana remake : 2h27 (2nd)
Strongest worldwide achievement on TGM : 1st European S13 rank
WR on TGM alternative mode : Fastest ITEM S9 rank ( <-- Just got massacred by the 2nd most powerfull player in the world )
Current PB on Power Ranger (Game Gear) : 10min06 (World Record)

Non-geek activity : ThermalHungary

Nice charts as always nero! Switch bounced back while PS4 is still struggling.

Signature goes here!

Switch recovered a little, but still numbers are worse than last year. PS4 stays low. Nothing new on the software side. Awful week.

3DS-FC: 4511-1768-7903 (Mii-Name: Mnementh), Nintendo-Network-ID: Mnementh, Switch: SW-7706-3819-9381 (Mnementh)

my greatest games: 2017, 2018

Predictions: Switch / Switch vs. XB1 in the US / Three Houses first quarter

Can't wait for this horrible drought period to be over, these numbers are just depressing. Nintendo really needs to stop this shit where they always let their systems lose momentum by going like 6 months or more without any system sellers.

As Green says though, at least the rains are on the horizon with Yokai and Mario Maker later this month, then after that Dragon Quest 11 S, Animal Crossing, and Pokemon Sword/Shield rounding out the second half of the year.

Wonder what gave Switch an 8k boost over last week though. Doesn't seem to have been any significant new releases.

Just like I had to point out in last week's thread, these numbers shouldn't be a reason to get worked up.

The post-Golden Week lull is a typical thing. As far as I know, this is the time of the year when Japanese schools have their most important exams, so that's what students decide to focus on and therefore postpone video game purchases. Because of that, all publishers refrain from releasing noteworthy games during those weeks due to the lower sales potential. And because of that, the lull gets amplified because those people who don't go to school anymore have less incentives to buy a console during those weeks.

Legend11 correctly predicted that GTA IV (360+PS3) would outsell SSBB. I was wrong.

I think basically now switch will continue to have the majority of top ten till the end of the summer.
