MS seriously needs to step it up next gen. After the amazing 360, the XB1 has been a serious brand damaging console for me. Every year felt like Nintendos 2016 offerings at best. If youre a hardcore fan of MS franchises and don't own a PS4, I could see it being worth while.

That was super disappointing. 6/10 at BEST.

Yep. No dumb early focus on multimedia and Kinect like XB1. Just a pure game console. Assuming the price is right, Scarlett is basically guaranteed to sell more than Xbox One, especially since they're going to have a stronger 1st party next-gen than they had this gen.

Maybe,  maybe not.

I don't see any evidence of MS software being stronger.  Looks pretty much the same to me.

The scarlett section was handled pretty badly.  Playing catch up to Sony on stuff we already know (loading, 8k, 120hz, custom ssd) and showing off Halo without any wow factor.

So basically doubling up the amount of studios, which automatically means doubling up the output of games is the exact same to you..

Okay then..

lol when he plugged in Master Chief all I could think of was Christmas Vacation.

More important than the specs is that Spencer emphasized that Scarlett will be only about one thing and that is gaming. It can be ruled out that Microsoft will commit blunders like with the Xbox One, so the sales potential for Scarlett is higher.

Thats really good.

Pocky Lover Boy!

Yes, because having more studios mean a stronger lineup / more quality games.

dont make me laugh. Just because they have higher potential output (which they don't have right now, as I have said) doesn't put them in a better position for anything unless said games are actually good.

Why are we acting like MS don't make good games or have decent ones coming out?

Can I ask you this,

Lets forget about the other 13 studios and lets just look at 3 games here. Do you think Gears 5, Halo 6 and Ori 2 or below par games that are releasing?

Quality was never an issue here, it was the quantity which it seems they have addressed. You can argue that Crackdown 3, Halo Wars 2 and State of Decay 2 are poor outings, but lets look at the bigger picture here, none of those games were made eternally. Also lets not act like there competition doesn't make subpar games, they all do.

We aren't. All I have said is that their future output right now doesn't look much different from their current output.

Gears 5 looks like Gears. E3 showing was straight up junk, so it looks below par so far to me. Halo Infinite is hard to tell, we have like nothing going on it. Ori 2 looks really good.

As I said before, I am not saying their quality sucks. I am saying that their future output doesn't look to be greater than what we are getting now. And considering this convo has been strictly about MS, the competition talk is irrelevant, and comparisons is something I am not doing.

Not sure how you can be so blunt with saying the show is junk. What exactly did you want and expected? They showcased a bunch of games, they don't all have to be AAA budgeted titles to deserve points. Also a lot of the games they showed they basically own.. like The Outer Worlds, Wasteland 3 and Minecraft Dungeons just to name a few. They will also announce more at the PC event with Gears Tactics and hopefully AoE4.

To me there future output looks just as good as it ever was, I was disappointed that Ori 2 was delayed to 2020, however I got to see gameplay of Battletoads and I saw Ninja Theory's new game.

The Halo trailers can tell a million words, as its the little things you notice in the trailer rather than straight up gameplay. Halo fans like myself loved what we saw and heard, if you are into Halo you would understand its an event not just another game. I am a little disappointed that they didn't show gameplay footage but the overall Halo trailer was well worth it for me and its hyped beyond belief.

As for the entire show, we had MS announce there next console specs, we had them purchase another studio, we were shown 14 1st party games and a bunch of 3rd party games that will look better on the X compared to its console counter parts. The show cannot please you unless you know what you actually want.

It felt like Xbox were holding there cards to there chest this E3, no announcements from Turn 10, Playgrounds 2nd division, Compulsion, Rare and Initiative which means there saving them for next year. To prove that fact just look at there console announcement, they only announced everything Sony announced with PS5 and left it at that, basically saying they are doing all those things to. Next year will be an even bigger year.

Halo is day 1. Thats about it. No Perfect Dark. No conker. No main forza. Not much to look forward to really.
