Forums - Movies & TV - Sony announces Twisted Metal TV series for upcoming PlayStation Productions

Source.

I'm all for this, a Twisted Metal TV series sounds like it could be dope as hell, a mix of Mad Max and Death Race, if you will, which I really enjoyed both movies, so it'll be interesting to see how it plays out. I still can't believe we never got a sequel to the 2012 reboot on PS4.

A live-action movie with Costas Mandylor (known for playing Mark Hoffman in the Saw series) as Sweet Tooth was rumored at one point, but it apparently got stuck in development hell. I guess this is what's becoming of the planned movie.

I am very excited to see how this does. Sony's movie IP's suck, but their gaming IP are top notch. Hope they can deliver SIEWWS level content for TV and Movies.

Twisted Metal has huge potential. I absolutely loved the Blood Drive TV series from 2017. This could be something along those lines.

I really enjoyed Powers, the TV Series they did for PS+ for two seasons. It would be great to get that value back in the service. Sony has Sony many IP, they can honestly have something for PS+, PS Vue, and Theater on a pretty consistant basis.

I suppose it could be cool. But, exactly how many good video game-related TV shows and movies has anyone seen? I can't think of a single one. So, I ain't holding my breath here.

Well let's wait and see how this turns out. Never remembered Twisted Metal having much of a good story to become a TV show.

One of my top 3 games of all time :

1) Megaman 3
2) Secret of Mana
3) Twisted Metal Word Tour.

While it's true that games-to-movies are pretty much never good, a narrative-driven TV show stretched across multiple seasons is a whole other venture from a 2 hour long movie.

And the Castlevania Netflix series was pretty good. I also liked Sonic SatAM back in the day.

What!? Maybe now they'll have rebooted/remake the cut endings from Twisted Metal 1! lol
