I wouldn't expect more than Pro enhancements on games. MAYBE additional upscaling, but that's about it.

This is good news from Sony and confirmation which everyone needs to hear but I would also say that the expectation was probably expected. I know I pretty much expected this to be the case but you never know.

To be fair, Sony pretty much INVENTED cross platform play back on the PS3. They raised the question back then when games were crossplay on PS3/PC. They extended the offer to Xbox and were turned down as it is something that potentially messes with sales incentive.....Sony returned the favor in spades this Gen while the undisputed market leader.

>They did it to Nintendo as well. They seem to have walked back the cross-play concept entirely this gen. Thankfully, they no longer hold Fortnite accounts hostage.

Yea, I guess the best improvements could come in games with unstable/unlocked framerates and/or dynamic resolution scaling as long as the BC mode still has some additional power over the PS4pro unlike how the Pro initially handled PS4 compatibility (by clocking down and deactivating CUs down to normal PS4 specs).

Think that was 'spite'. I mean, when they asked and were told no one gen, then when games like FF14 only exist on PS4 because MS policies at the time were the other way around. It's kinda weird when these people who said no to you are all for it suddenly because of their position in the market. :P

Good to know but I am ready to jump to the ps5. It looks like ghost of tsushima and dead strading are launch title for ps5 so I want to play them at their best.
