Forums - Gaming Discussion - Do you think the gamedatabase still has a use?

Do you still use the gamedatabase?

Nope RIP software sales 7 35.00%

Yes i update my collection 3 15.00%

Yes i check reported software sales 3 15.00%

Yes i read userreviews 1 5.00%

No, any other reason ... 2 10.00%

Yes, any other reason ... 4 20.00%

Total:20

The database used to be very important because all weekly software sales were registered within each game page, but now that only reported software is updated does the database still have a use?

Do you use it to track your collection or review the game in question or is it dead to you now the homebrewed sales are gone?

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

Now that we can add games again I might update my collection.

I putter around with it in general for a few different reasons. Added a few games to my collection recently, and added 3 to the database just a few days ago.

I've literally never used it. Not even once, that I can remember.

The game- what?

Since there is still shipment data for games, yes, because that’s the place where you’re going to see them. Where else would I find the sales data for games if not in a database.

Besides that every once in a while I update my collection. No Odyssey2 to add though.

For historical reasons. The GDB can compile and keep this specific history of the site alive

Just a guy who doesn't want to be bored. Also

I used to take pride in updating my collection. When the man tried to hold us down by taking away the option, I quit caring. I probably bought a thousand games since then. Too many to update. The feature is dead to me.

Basically this, but with ~85% fewer games bought since then.

...I don't follow - what am I missing?

He means that nintendo has no games
