Hurray, BraLoD woke up!

Shouldn't you be happy when I'm not around instead?

That's how it usually is!

Nah, dude, you're great! Even if you erroneously believe Nioh to be better than Bloodborne!

Golden sun

FF, DQ and the likes i just cant stomach, fire emblem barely

Golden Sun is a masterpiece and incredibly underated by the community. I dont like DQ and FF i only liked acouple of them. I did enjoy Fire Emblem Awakening but the rest of them were too much the same.

One reason i stopped caring for JRPGs is the sheer clutter of them and there all based on similar concepts like collect the 4 elements of the world or some guy wants to destroy the world. Some reason i actually enjoyed GS probably because of the battle scenes were pretty amazing and the combinations with the Dijinn.

Bloodborne is great but Nioh is just so damn perfect.

Nioh 2 is looking great btw.

LoD is what it is ...a high budget yet middle of the pack RPG in it's era (got 6.0 and 5.0s by EGM I believe) that has gathered a cult following in the years after its release, mainly because JRPGs these days aren't much of match for the 90s classics. But in its time LoD was pedestrian and it remains so.

I agree that the game was average, but why aren’t rpgs like chrono cross, Valkyrie profile and lunar 2 more popular?

it surprises me to see so many people saying that’s one of their favorite rpgs ever, I really don’tunderstand where the love for this game comes from.

Good to know, I'll avoid the 20 year old game.

Lunar 2, VP and CC are ATG games. They were recognized are such at the time they were released and are still generally regarded as such....I think LoD just has a very vocal cult following. But the fact that Sony never pursued a sequel shows that it wasn't a successful venture. LoD was a FF Copycat in an era where everyone was trying to make the next big RPG hit.

I kinda sorta agree, though I was too young to understand what flaws were at the time. I pretty much ate up any traditional Japanese RPG at that time thanks to the squaresoft age. But I will explain through my imbalanced teenage mind at the time. The game was amazing the first disc, and for some reason I just got so bored with it during disc 3. I stopped playing it at the beginning of Disc 4... I think.

OP is correct that it isn't memorable. I only recall the names Dart and Rose because the OP mentioned them. All I truly remember is a main playable character dies in the beginning, which was pretty shocking to me at the time.

Did this really deserve a thread? What's next, Cruis'n USA was never great and the only reason it was popular in its time was because "USA! USA! USA!"

Some things need to be said. Next I'm hoping for a thread about the Citizen Kane of gaming, Cory in the House.
