Forums - Sony Discussion - PS3 sales in Japan this week.......

.........ewww

Yes, I did make a thread just to say that, but I mean....8302? wtf? It's 360-esque

Yeah, hopefully Valkyria Chronicles will push it back over 20k a week. That comes out in a week or two. Wii sales haven't been that impressive either, the only console that has been doing very well is the PSP.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

I know man.....it's killing me on the inside. C'mon Sony you need to pick this crap up. You can't do this badly on your home turf. Damn it guys you're making us look bad.

TBH I'm not sure where the drop will stop, it's gone steadily down for a month now and I don't see anything in the future to stop the downfall. I'm interested to see where it will level off. Based on the trend lately, we could be seeing even worse numbers next week.

...

The PS3 is doing as well as Don King on 100 meter hurdles, its painful to watch. I wonder why it can pull off decent numbers in all the world except Japan? Japan loved the two previous ones, maybe they've gone way to casual for the PS brand over there? I sure as hell don't understand that market.

I think the PS3 has lost Japan if they can't make their way out of this slump before MGS comes out.

Didn't the Wii beat it 6 to 1 this week.

I mean, there is going to come a point of no return, where the PS3 can no longer win in Nintendoland.

These numbers aren't bad, they're abysmal.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

This is the next Xbox 360....I hope not...

Read my sign..

Poor PS3 Sales Means Smaller Losses

"Actually, because the number of units sold was not as high as we hoped, the loss was better than our original expectation," Quotes from Sony’s CFO Nobuyuki Oneda.

PS3 japan is dying, 360 is dead and being buried. Long live Ninty!!!

Mil. Sellers:

Wii:      25 titles       101.4 mil total    avg 4 mil per title

PS3:     14 titles      28.6 mil total    avg ~2 mil per title

360:     41 titles      89.8 mil total   avg  >2 mil per title

Japan seems to have lost interest in consoles almost altogether, IMO. That market is totally dominated by handhelds.
