Sonic movie delayed to 2020 to fix Sonic

Forums - Movies Discussion - Sonic movie delayed to 2020 to fix Sonic

People who complained might want to consider just going to see it out of principle now (assuming they make Sonic look better), because whether the movie is good or not, they listened to the feedback, and they're trying. Apparently beyond their original budget. And we want that from film studios. (Not going over budget, but listening to feedback and making changes when it's needed)

Jim Carry is still going to ruin this movie for me. He went from being one of my favorite comedy actors to non-stop political, demonizing anyone who he disagrees with through his grotesque art style.

Lol is that you Sarah Sanders?  Please give me a break.  He is only saving grace of this shit show of a movie.

Smart move by the studio to delay this.

Sarah Sanders is hardly the only one he targets. He hates on anyone with an even remotely conservative mindset, not just the Trump administration.

Well there might have been a time where a majority of republicans weren't such douchebags.  I can maybe count the amount of good conservatives on one hand.  Same can almost be said of democrats.  Republicans are pricks and act like playground bullies but if they don't get their way they turn into babies kicking and screaming.  Also they should drop the word conservative.  They have no problem raping the land for profit and they are clearly not conservative with money since they love blowing up the budget since Reagan days.

I agree with you though they should replace Jim.  They should make Trump the villain considering he already plays the role quite amazingly.

If the new design is at least decent (don't need to be perfect, good is enough) I'll be going to see it in theaters with some friends if I can, which I wouldn't before.

Not out of principle, but to show them I appreciate their consideration about the fanbase and the character.

But if it looks horrid again...

Is that even possible without delaying the movie?

Yep. Doesn't release until November. The initial special effects/CGI for the movie were completed in 1 month, back in October 2018. Means it will only take them 1 month to replace the Sonic model in all of his scenes.

@shikamaru317
A few things about that. Even if the CGI they had implemented so far had only taken them a month, and that was the only factor here, if Sonic's design is altered by just a few inches, it can affect the entire scene and require adjustments not just to other CGI elements, but the live action portions that interact with those CGI elements.

A hollywood CGI artist said he estimated it took them 6-9 months just to nail down Sonic's look, and that they now need 3+ months of work on that alone.

I would have watched it anyway because of Jim Carrey, but it's nice that they listened to the fans and are improving it.

Well they are still mostly socially conservative in the sense that want to not change and progress despite what the world is doing. I do agree with the money thing, however I think the Democrats still spend a lot more. If Democrats win 2020, there will be a huge push for insanely expensive programs Republicans don't want (expand Medicaid, universal healthcare, free college, everyone getting a paycheck even if they aren't working). Republicans tend to just want to spend tons of money on military related things.

Now you've got me thinking if Trump will get into movies after he leaves office like Arnold did again after stepping down as Governor lol.
