This happens every year, and it always ends badly.

I have no expectations, and I don't think you should either

Nintendo will announce that Pokemon SwSh is the last pokemon game made by gamefreak and that the pokemon games will now be handled by Bethesda.
What, let me dream!

......Shore, you are aware of FO76 right?

Or even without that, I don't want my Flygon's flying backwards.

The Democratic Nintendo fan....is that a paradox? I'm fond of one of the more conservative companies in the industry, but I vote Liberally and view myself that way 90% of the time?

FO76 wasn't handled by the main Bethesda studio, but yes i'm aware of the bugs, however i'd love to see a "Bethesda" pokemon world, with developed lore, a interactive story, a high budget and overall Bethesda freedom to do anything at any order. I would miss the turn based combat though.

I guess the bright side would be that the Pokemon anime that follows Sw/Sh would last longer as the project would be maybe done in 3-5 years.

I think most of their presentation will be elaborating on games that they have already teased (Animal Crossing, Link's Awakening, etc...).  There will be at most 1 - 2 first party games that we haven't heard announced yet.

However, I do think they will show a decent amount of third party games that have so far been unannounced for the Switch.  I also expect at least a couple Switch exclusives in this bunch.

I'm hoping for DLC for Super Mario Party and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. And Im hoping for a new 3D Mario game, perhaps Super Mario Galaxy 3

Nintendo: Pokemon info blowout. Reminder that SMM2 is coming out this month. pls buy Smash DLC. Animal Crossing trailer. They will tease something that will drive everyone crazy, probably BotW2.

Third parties: GTAV and Kingdom Hearts... nah, that makes too much sense. We'll get Bully Remastered and a late port of that Secret of Mana remake that should have been on Switch day one.
Somehow there is a solid 40% chance that FIFA 20 is a legacy edition, and we won't know until it comes out.
Everyone will walk away once again thinking Ubisoft is a good supporter of the Switch when they announced 0 new games.

As usual, I ain't going into E3 with expectations, do I have dreams though ? Yeah I do, but I'll judge the presentation on what it has inside instead of what it didn't have ( As if Nintendo was supposed to engage with every request made by it's consummers, lol)

Anyway here's I think what might happen :

- Most of it will be filled by further expositions on titles we already know about, while Luigi's Mansion 3, Zelda: Link's Awakening and Animal Crossing Festival (No Amiibos allowed) are truly shown for the first time, we'll get further stuff on upcoming titles due to 2nd half of 2019 and early 2020 (Daemon x Machina, Town, Super Mario Maker 2, Fire Emblem Three Houses, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, Pokémon SwSh, Astral Chain, etc ...). That first part will take most of the Direct Event of course.

- What we might see (or most probable) would be the announcement of the new DLC fighter for Smash ... and they might even slip 2 of those with a small teaser for the 2nd one, where the first shown will get a full blown reveal. This could be followed by the showcase of at least 2 new games, one is a new IP where the other one utilize an existing Nintendo IP (Pikmin 4,F-Zero, Rhythm Heaven, etc ....).

- On other news I think Nintendo and Ubisoft will have no collaboration to showcase this year ... that's because we'll get one the next following year at E3 2020, it'll be a big project, just as ambitious as Mario(+ Donkey Kong) + Rabbids was.

- Will Monolith Soft show something this year ? A new IP or Xenoblade related ? Maybe, maybe not. In case, they don't partake in the dance this year, it'll mean that they surely going to follow with the presentation of something in 2020.

- It's also the last chance I'm giving to the wild rumor of a Star Fox racing game made by Retro Studios to make an entrance, otherwise I'll just feel foolish about thinking that it might've been true at some point ...

- Don't know what to say about 3rd party announcements honestly ...

It always ends badly ?

This is how it ended in 2017:

And in 2018:

2 of the best games of the Switch. How does it always end badly ?
