At a lot of the places where this has been posted the excuse of "of course it did, it's a portable" has been bandied about a lot, but I feel this is an oversimplification. After all, Vita being portable didn't stop the PS4 outselling it in Japan.
I'm late to the party but congrats
The Switch dominance in Japan is truly something else, coming for 20+ million units sold lifetime.

And yet still couldnt outsell the ps4 worldwide the last 2 years and 2 months.

If japan isnt portable crazy then why couldnt nintendo home consoles sell as well as their handhelds?
